and what type of material is it? SS, aluminum, etc. im thinking its 1/4" and 3/16", but not sure. TIA!
Well pretty much 3/16" is standard. That is what I ran on the '80 when I redid the entire system.
I did notice that for some reason the rear lines on the axle of the 87-88TC's is 1/4".
cool, thanks! im gonna try to get all the brake lines knocked out within a couple of weeks. im gonna use #3 fittings on everything. i gotta buy a line loc, too.
I thought that was kinda weird that my 88 tc had 3/16 fronts and a 1/4 going to the rearend. I'm going to rerun all new brake lines using stainless steel; anyone have a cheap source for pre-bent lines? If not I'll bend up my own.
It has 1/4" running to the back because it's rear disc...
actually mine
were drum. :D
I was referring to the comments made about the TC...oops
and the lx's obviously have the same diameter.
well my guess is that the 1/4 inch is cause its a single line for both rear wheels. 3/16 up front cause its a shorter distance, and only feeds one caliper each line.
my mark was the same way. 3/16 up front, 1/4 all the way back and to each wheel.
my guess is they are just steel stock since they rust out so nicely.
i pity you northerners! :hick:
thanks
keep the pity find me a rust free roller and Ill love you forever. I replaced EVERY SINGLE line(yes the new fuel lines are in CORRECTLY)
i refuse to ever buy a northern car again. NEVER.
Whoa! im not down with the man-loving!
just move down the south. the weather here is miserably hot.
in a no-homo way! I am going to penn after next year. Its almost there hahaha.
Best part is i'll be 30 mins from PIR dragway!
Fox Mustangs have a single 3/16" line running to the rear...
:dunno:
that's what size im using now. just finished the rear, and im gonna give it a rest for the night, before finishing the front lines.
they are shorter as well though.... Idk it was an educated guess
Both my cars have a 3/16" line run to the rear. Both cars have rear disks. Both cars have an adjustable prop valve. The brakes on both cars work just fine. I redid the '80 from booster to calipers, all new.
You will be fine if you are running the 3/16" line.
