***NEW PICS. ADDED 7-30-08***
It is a 1988 Cougar V8 with most options not leather, moonroof, floor console a couple of things. Has 100k easy miles. No rust. Has 6 optima yellow top batts in the truck with 2 REDS pro series pumps with 10 switch box. All of the trunk hydaulics finished in brushed aluminum. Custom paint that dosen't look too impressive in the pix but is sweet outside. It is all black metallic with the silver bowling ball or marbelizer effect over it for the 2-tone. I hope you like it! Shes a fun ride!!
Holy !!
Welcome aboard
ummmm welcome.
Thanks it seems like a great site with cool people. I have been browsing for awhile! Here are a few more pix if your interested.
I'm not a huge fan of hydraulics, but it looks like they were done right. Nice car!
, that is nice. cool paint, very cool.
Not sure that i'd have the hydros on a anything of mine, but I'm not knocking yours one bit, it is clean, for sure.
Kudos for not having wire wheels though, they just don't seem to flow with our cars' lines for whatever reason.
Did I say , your car is nice? lol
Yeah it's really tasteful IMO, not overbearing and gaudy like most "hoppers".
Nice ride, and welcome! You'll surely be entertained by SOMEthing here sooner or later!!!
Bouncey:D
I bet it's cake to change the oil in that thing...
Yeah just make it go side to side to shake every last drop outta the pan :hick:
not my cup of tea, but , that thing is clean as hell. nice job!
Yeah, really. There is literally only one place I can put my jack to get the front of my car up off the ground enough to slide a pan into place and get myself in there to pull the plug. And this thing is a 4x4 compared to a lot of rigs on here.
car looks good. love the install in the trunk, very clean and well finished.
IMO the cougar fits very well in the lowrider scene. jus sumthin about how they look makes it a perfect car to build in that style.
Very beautiful car. I love that paint job.
Very nice! Welcome to the forum!
Nice car.I'm not into hydraulics ,but if that's your thing, than cool.It does look like quality work.Welcome aboard, glad to have new members..Enjoy the place.
P.S. How about some interior shots and one of the engine.
Sweet car, nice to see something different every once and a while.
very nice hydraulic system..... was into those for awhile.... but i grew out of them... now im hooked on raw horsepower............ so hydraulics add weight when im trying to lose weight... well anyway welcome to the forum.. im new as well so dont be a stranger
Looks great. you are a rare breed around here. I can only think of 2 other cars that were on here that had hydraulics. and there was one on bags. whats the underside look like? is it a driver or just a show car? really like the cleaness of the install
Like several of the comments here, I am not into the hydraulics, but I am into how clean it is. Wow. Very nice job on the installation, definitely first class. Welcome!
wow shes a bute .i like how you kept the era of the car with the 80,s paint theme. and the 80,s style wheels.and hydros instead of bags...nice cat bro welcome
Thanks for all of the compliments on the car! I wasn't sure how a "lowrider" Cougar would be received but as I said in one of my earlier posts this forum seems to have some quality people so thanks. I say that because where I am from they (lowriders) aren't real common and I hear all kinds of crazy things about it. Anyways it is easy to change the oil and a front tire as well. If you put it all the way up like in my sig. and dump one of the rear corners you can-with alittle pull on the front fender lift the front corner off the ground no jack! It pulls a pretty good three-wheel as well. I currently only have one partial interior shot i'll post but the interior is like brand new. It's light grey with the top part of the dash dark grey. I have to reinstall the pumps to get it out this year and i'll get some more pics up if there is any interest. I finished the car in 1997 so the hydros were abit more popular and I was a bit younger back then!! Thanks again for the comments!
Oh I was going to answer as well that it's not a show car really nor is it a daily driver but could be if you have the kidneys and bladder for it! It has only been wet twice since 1997 and that was a light wash other than that nothing. The underside is ok has maybe a little overspray here or there and rustproofing. The motor is all stock and probably abit dusty. I thought of building it up but lowriders just aren't suppose to be moving too fast.
Do you have any problems with the body twisting or panels not aligning since you've done that
Welcome.
That has to be one of the more tasteful lowriders I've seen in a long time.
Im not a fan of hydros, low is nice, but never liked hydros.
But that I like. Nice wheels, sweet paint, nothing gaudy and obnoxious, just enough to be noticed before you show off the hydros. Very VERY tastefully done. Like most on here not my cup of tea, but I like it alot! And wouldnt be ashamed to own it!
No I haven't had any problems with that and I was pleasantly surprised with how ridgid the cars are actually built. The one thing that did happen if you look at the trunk shot of the hydros look at the right trunk lid hinge. That is a paint stirer holding it up because the tension jobbies under the deck popped out and I haven't fixed them yet. I am really not too hard on it at all either. I don't even have it so it can bounce because that is the hardest on them and probably not real good for the aluminum rims!
Nice paint job what did you use on the bottom of the car to make it look like that. I think you did a great job on that car and welcome and don't listen to all of my crazy ideas. Nice cougar i can't wait to see more mods or just more pics of it.
Thanks Carpimp--and I'll remember that! After painting the whole car black metallic I used house of Kolor marbalizer. It is super thin and all metallic pretty much. You have to do one panel at a time cause it dries so fast. You spray it on then hurry up and use something to make a pattern I used saran-wrap but you can use tons of stuff. The next thing is pull it off and some comes off showing dark areas which is the black showing through from underneath. If you take too long and I am talking more than 15-20 seconds most of the color or pattern will come off on the saran-wrap then you start over. BTW..if anyone tries this there is an extra step after applying the marbalizer you must use I think it is Sg-100 from house of kolor for the clearcoat to stick.

Beautiful paint work, welcome!
Low riders aren't my thing, but I can respect anybody that puts TLC into their car, and you definitely have. Welcome to the board, clean ride ya got there. :)
thanks my mechanic is painting my cougar XR7 2 tone sliver and blue.
Top and bottom Blue
Middle and engine bay sliver
Paided like $241 for all the paint stuff but it should turn out nice and i go the stuff for almost half price.
Your mechanic paints your cars?
well that explains everything! lol. I want to know how to do both and Im sure there are a few member that can paint and go fast, sleeper, and 5.8 Fastcat
F.F.S. its PAID not paided.
Nice lowrider, looks good on a Coug rather than a Cutlass or a Regal.
Pretty cool!!!
I've always thought the 87'-88's make great looking low riders. I would love to see someone chop a roof on one as well. Nice car. I would love to have the hydraulics in one of my cars, just for the fun of changing positions. I had a 79' Z28 with air shocks, and I would let the air out for awhile then go back to raising it up again. Love the idea of driving it up as well as down some, and sideways would have to be a wild experience as well, if possible.
Welcome!
^LMAO!!
Nice ride, as was stated... not into hydros.. We had a guy in town with them on a sonoma... thought he was cool, til everybody called him a British cigarette all the time, and the cops harassed the out of him.:nannerbang:
A British cigarette cause he had hydros??? I have only been pulled over once but I don't really hit the switches too much on the roads or in town near cops anyways.
I've painted quite a few, but I'm not really a mechanic either.
My car goes really fast down hills. LOL
Yes, what does having hydraulics have to do with being homoshagual?
Hang on, can I just tell you - there's only one way that I've EVER been able to lose weight quickly and healthily without freakin' starving myself or taking pills...
Forget LOW FAT, LOW CAL, LOW CARB - none of this works because you're basically starving yourself - then besides making your life miserable, you don't even lose weight!! Your body is too smart and it just re-calibrates your metabolism to match your new caloric intake...
The only thing that has worked for me is "Calorie Shifting" - It works amazingly and just makes so much sense. My friends are getting annoyed with me saying I never shut up about it... that I sound like Tom Cruise, lol - but it's literally changing my life!! I eat a ton and still lose weight, so obviously I'm gonna be proud of it and tell people, yaknow?
Anyway, you can check out the whole theory at http://www.consumerfilter.org/products/weight_loss
btw, Worst NAME EVER - "fat loss 4 idiots" - it's like: "hey thanks!!" wtf?? ...marketed by guys obviously ;)
post here and let me know if you love it - we can track progress together... good luck - you can do it!!!
^^^What the hell does that have to do with his car?!?!
and because it looks gay as hell driving around with one side raised and the other slammed, or the ass end dropped and front raised, like he use to do... so , alot of us called him gay.
Dont you DARE wish me luck. I can NOT do it. Furthermore I dont WANT to. And neither does anyone else here I think. Hope your hands get caught in a garbage disposal and no ones around to help you. Fail.
Why just put him in the doghouse? Perma bann his ass.
I HATE SPAM.
Unless its fried up with eggs
Ban Ban Ban Ban
I never liked Spam,or that snot stuff that it's packed in.
due to high costs of food these days, spam is making a comeback, no lie, it was on the news. I'd rather eat hotdogs instead, though.
Nice car, sillyman, not too over the top. I work with a lowrider guy, lavish-lows, as he sells plaques and other lowrider parts.
LOL .. Spam is one of those things you have to try every 10 years and say......No, I don't think so. Mabe some other day. I did eat a lot of that in the 70s, when we were poor though.
Sorry about the Spamjacking. You do have an awesome looking ride, dude
my grandfather ate nothing but spam for 30 days while in the hull of a ship ( he was a Marine) during WWII. He hasn't eaten spam since, and I don't blame him.
spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam spam SPAAAAAAAM SPSPSPSPAAAAAAAAM (apologies to the Flying Pythons Full Monty Circus)

LOL, I knew that was coming soon
I have to say I have never had SPAM. Someone told me once sliced about a half inch thick then fried put on toast with lettuce and mayo is really good though? If I ever get some days off I hope to get the car out finally this year. Hey if anyone has a 1999-2000 contour SVT for sale or trade that might kick me into a higher gear to get it out?
NOt big on the hydro but it's a nice looking kitty! Does it look good with just the back jacked up alittle bit? to give it the aggressive look?
I had said I would post some pics. after I cleaned it up abit more so here they are sorry they aren't the best but I have to buy a new camera this is my 2.0megapix razr2! In the pics. you may notice I removed the outdated chrome wheelip I had put on in 1998 and I set a standard 5 gallon bucket near it and a bud bottle under the rear bumper for those that wonder how low it is. The bottle won't slide under the bumper it's about .5 inches too tall. FYI-the car is for sale as well. It really wouldn't take more than a day,new shocks and struts to put it back to stock. Oh and springs if you wanted stock ride height.
a few more.
More.
These 2 as well.
The last 2! Thanks for Looking.
