I swapped the winter tires off the rears finally and as I was putting the wheels back on I noticed one of my hubcaps had a couple cracks on the inner part of it. They are very noisy and violent coming off, no!? So I took em all off and shelved 'em, as that little paranoid part of me had just kicked on very aggressively. "Oh what if someone steals em or they get broken MORE?". At first it looked a little odd with the indentations near the center and the rim there that's now not covered by the cap, but it's REALLY growing on me. Especially from afar, they look SO much more like your typical '80s turbine, the caps do like the rest of the car, unseat it from it's time and make it jump further ahead and look more modern than it actually is. I like how this puts it back where it should be, kinda.
Maybe this is completely unnecessary and I'm just typing what's on other's minds, this must have been discussed before. But, I have two final exams coming up, I'm trying to study and add to the "crib sheets" we're allowed, and I don't want to so I'm CREATING distractions. :hick:
Oh and I spray-bombed the tires again. Two of 'em rubbed a curb in the last couple months. Lame. I don't know why the hell I can't....well....DRIVE!
Funny you should say that as my son stole my turbines for his 83 today and since it will be going to get new tires I didnt put the center caps back on yet and thought to myself, that didnt look to bad, of course then I also thought my kid stole my rims and I get to buy him new tires also.
Why yes, yes I do. :burnout:
Dan, it sounds like you got the better of that deal, lol.
I like the turbines wo/ center caps.
I paid 64.00 on ebay for a set of good centercaps for the turbines I had on my Mustang.
I do like those black ones without the center caps. I bet those are a lot easier to keep clean being black too. :hick:
