I'm not a fan of the red either. The black looks good.
What kind of carpeting did you get for the trunk? I see rolls at some parts places but it seems so thin and cheap.

I did the same thing (porno red to black), but the main reasons I did mine was 1) Swapping TC seats in, and my TC seats were blue and 2) My porno red dash was cracked all to hell. The carpet and headliner out of the donor TC were no good, and I didn't want to have blue seats and dash with red carpet and headliner, so I compromised - I went with a two-tone red and black. Black dash, seats, console, and hard plastic bits, red carpet, headliner, and accents on the door panels. When I get around to replacing the carpet and headliner I'll get black, then do the door panels in all-black as well.

One thing to look out for, Ether - the black vinyl/plastic paint I used did NOT want to stick to the hard plastic surrounding the door pocket and the pull strap. I actually painted it, noticed it scratched really easily, then simply peeled it right off (which is why it's red in my car - I had intended on leaving only the carpeted part of the panel red). If it peeled off that easily I can just imagine how durable it would have been in the car...

there's hope for a black interior afterall, lol.  I haven't seen anyone's dyed black interior til now.  Looks pretty good.  (I had thoughts of darkly faded grey in my mind.)

Did you use a good quality wax and grease remover, I scratched my parts with my finger nail and it did not come off. I also used a red scotch pad to help adhesion

I used the same wax and grease remover that I used on the body of the car before painting it (still have about 3/4 of a gallon left after the paint job). Paint just didn't want to stick. It was only those parts, too - everything else, the paint took a death grip

I did do the dash. In fact I pulled the old cracked red dash out, painted the uncracked blue dash that was in the back seat of the parts TC when I bought it black (using the same Duplicolor stuff you used), and installed it long ago. I did the console too. Pics:

1) Before
2) During (I also rewired the ignition switch to use relays so the current for the accessories isn't carried by the switch anymore)
3) After

Yeah, I like it. Once you go black you never go back, you know ;)

You'll have to forgive the dust covering everything. The car was in the middle of a bunch of bodywork at the time. As for all the  on the floor - it was from where a squirrel had built a nest in my blower fan. I'm ashamed to admit that the pile of yellow insulation is still there :(
