I have a 1979 351w out of a van put in my 1990 tbird, Hedders are a small problem as the driver side one is sitting right on top of the steering shaft. I'm using BBK shortys now i've tried hedman 88380 for the 88 bird but the same problem. Other than moving the shaft is there a hedder which will fit this bird ?
We're more dedicated to Fox chassis (1980-1988) T-Birds and Cougars here. Your '90 is an MN12 chassis. If somebody here knows they'd certainly help you, but you're more likely to find somebody who knows at http://www.tccoa.com - it's a form like this but dedicated to later models.

Thanks a milion, I've been looking for info on this for some time and have signed on to several sites. I was told that there was no way that a 351w would bolt up to an aod tranny. However so far there has only been 1 problem, and that was that I had to use the 3.8 flex plate and drill out the holes for the 7/16 bolts. Found this out after ruining the pump in the first tranny by using the original flex plate from the 351w, which happens to put the torque back into the tranny an extra 5mm, thus ruining the pump. You need a flexplate from a '90 Crown Vic with the police package(5.8)... The balance is going to be off using the 3.8 flexplate...
I have been to several syards in the area, only to find 5.0 L flex plates which have 50oz, instead of 28oz weights.No 5.8L police cars left ,The flexplate from the 3.8 looks as though it is very very close. Other than the bolt holes, which are just a tad too small. I don't want to put this back together again and shake the crank out of it. Does any one have a flexplate for sale for this? The ford dealor here dosen't have a listing for 1990 "too old" needs a # .

Ford motor sports sells a flex for the 351.
Summit racing can get you one as well as other mail order places.
I have a TCI flex for a 351 nailed to a wall somewere.
