Post by: 32VFoxBird on April 20, 2008, 07:03:43 PM
the small hose that comes off the under side of the intake and then to the tee on the heater hose. can i plug this small hose, or is it there to give the intake coolant?

Coolant flows through the intake to help warm up the motor, or something like that.  Yes you can plug it.  If you're looking for a performance gain, you want to block the flow between the head and lower.

DO NOT plug that hose or remove it without relocating the coolant temp sensor!

It's in the middle of the lower intake, right where this coolant goes through the lower intake.

If you plug that hose, you'll end up with a "dead spot" in the coolant flow right where the coolant temp sensor is, and the car will take forever to go out of closed loop mode, so your gas mileage will suck.

Move the coolant temp sensor to the heater hoses or somewhere similar, then you can do whatever you want.
