Title: Smog pump

How does the smog pump mount on the engine? I have tekne mine off and forgot. I have the top bolt in the bottom of the alternator bracket but thats is as far as i have gotten. thanks

Just leave it off, and plug lines to it. You dont need it, I done that on all my thunderbirds. Just need to get a smaller belt.  The parts store can fix ya up.

it mounts directly to the bottom of the trash can. along with all the hoses and  attached. all my cars have it removed to, and it did nothing for emmissions.

Unless you have emissions testing, then you may want to keep it.  If not, here's some help to junk the pump and tie up all the loose ends:

There is a small straight steel bracket about 4-5 in long that bolts to the bottom of the air pump and then goes the the timing cover lower stud

Just FYI... the Cardone replacement smog pumps changed the lower mounting point to SAE thread from Metric. The bolt that comes in the kit isn't long enough. You must buy a new one.
