The Ontario drive clean program: friend or foe.
In my experience... foe.
However, the first good thing to come out of this program... hehehe.... drum roll please... my 87's are no longer required for testing... they're FREE!!!!!! :)
As for the 88, we'll have about five more e-tests (once every two years) to do before she turns thrity! Then I register her as historic... and she'll be exempt to. If she goes that long :hick:
I find a whole new world opening in front of me... no longer bound to those silly rules and large headaches! WoooHooo!
I just had to share that... my silver lining! :D
Go :cougarsmily: Go!
It's even better here... we have never had emissions inspections in Nova Scotia :hick:
we don't have them here either. heck! we don't even have safty inspections unless there is a title transfer! :pbb:
No emissions on my cars - except the DD PT Cruiser.
Heck... maybe I should just move out of this silly province.
I've never had a car legally inspected...NJ is the second worst state (after California) for emissions and safety standards...not too bad if you know people in low places and know when and where the police are setting up roadside inspection stations...lol.
I could move 2 states in any direction and not have to ever worry about it again...friggin' Jersey...lol.
I hear ya. As you know, I work right on the riverfront and I occasionally find myself looking out the windows and just shaking my head. I can't remember the last time I've had to get an emissions test. It's not that I'm dodging the law, it's just that with the Explorer I don't put enough miles on the T-Bird to require one. PA is much more reasonable when it comes to that.
When NJ had that public survey asking people to submit state slogans, I thought seriously of sending in "Distract the guards while we swim for it".
You need to come over here and help us build helicopters...then you can move back into the U.S. :rollin:
So, is there any point in the US (CA specifically) when my 88 could be registered in some way to not need inspections?
Move?
I live in Georgia, and only Atlanta requires any inspections. The rest of the state is Free.
No emissions,no safety check.
Buffalo is no emissions after 25 year, but still a safety inspection
Hello
In Alberta Canada no emissions and no safety for 10 years or newer. Unless you know some one shady.
igiveup
Yeah same here I'm thinkin all of Upstate is like that. Great to hear, XLS!!!
Well, then... I guess if I want my 88 e-free! (lol) I better move out of this silly province (and yes, that was a blow McGuinty! :hick: )
Or put up with no exhaust customizations/changes until my Cougar X turns 30!
grrr....
But hey, not to ruin my silver lining.... I can go nuts... hahaha... Cougar nuts... :) on my 87's!
