So, I still haven't started on my suspension/brake project, but I did wrestle the car out of the garage - a major project in itself. Never build a narrow, deep garage...
First, just to get it down off the lift, everything had to be moved...
Then it all had to come out... (please ignore the rental property next door. If it ever comes up for sale, I'm going to buy it and knock it down)
Phew! I finally got it...
Now, it's all gotta go back in, but in a different order...
Man! I'm too tired to work on the T-Bird. I need a nap. Maybe tomorrow. :D
That made me tired too
wow bro nice set up and what a nice bird ya got there
that mach is sweet@!
Clean looking '83
WOW sheeeeeesh dude you wanna adopt me? I'll gladly move those any way you want anytime you want! LOL that's nice good collection man!
what do you do, and were can I sign up...
I love the bird, and thats a bad ass mach, and the porsche is sweet
very nice... I just told the wife our next house needs a big garage with a lift and be able to hold at least 3 cars, she said okay lol.
Thanks. The Mach is quietly for sale. I hate to see it go, but I need the money to finance this restoration...my first car. I've had it for 30 years.
Start...

Now...

About the only original steel left is the roof.
Thanks Chuck. I was thinking of using the same wheels as you when I do the five lug swap. They'll almost look like twins, so I may do something else. Your car was one of the ones that made me want to get back working on mine.
Wow, sweet resto man!!
68 fastback? or is it a 67, hard to tell that disisembled, but god I know my stangs! Thats gonna be a sweet ride! Thank god the floors in my 66 have already been done.
Who cares about the house, check out all those sweet rides!
The lift is the best thing ever. The garage configuration is what sucks. I couldn't go wider because of my lot size, so I made it two cars deep. If, heaven forbid, you want a car out of the back, everything has to move...including the daily drivers outside.

That Mach made me cry. Reminded me of my dads old 71 Fastback which he had to sell do to no job... which is the reason I got the cougar... for the father and son project that never happened.
And if I had the money I would love to have it just to give it to him.
Well there ARE worse problems to have ;)
It's a '65. My late Father gave it to me when I was 14 years old. It didn't look much better than the before pic when I drove it to high school, but I sure loved it!
We used a one piece floor in it. There was literally nothing left of the car. Frame rails, wheelhouses, floor, crossbraces, apr0ns, cowl, firewall, radiator support, quarters, fenders, doors - it's all new. I'm restoring it because it was given to me by my Father. Otherwise, it wouldn't be worth it.
Here's where I'm going with it... hence my screen name.

I know what you mean. My father gave me my 66 so I am gonna to do everything to never sell it, or s it. Its memory's that cant be replaced no matter what.
And I really feel dumb
65 year should have known by the tail light panel.... 67 was a complete change.
Of course you are right. Hurricane season is just around the corner. Thanks for reminding me :p ...

Yikes! Glad I live @ 460 ft above sealevel!
Nice cars - I had a '71 'Stang & my boss has a white version of the Porsche so I am somewhat familiar - though all I own is the Cougar now (well, and the T-Bucket) :hick:
I'm getting a lift this year - any recommendations? I was looking at a Bend-Pak HD-9 4-post lift. I'm glad you said it was the best as I'm getting really tired of the cramped auto-pit and a lift sounds good at this stage in my life.
If that's the garage from Hell, then I'm starting to question my faith...
Geez, man. 11.96! That's really something! I haven't started my engine work yet. The one and only time I took the car to the track, it ran a 17.82. I got smoked by a 4 door POS import and came home with my tail between my legs.
My lift is a Perfect Park 7000. When I bought it about 12 years ago, it was the best one out there. Since then, the Backyard Buddy people have made major improvements to their lift. Also, the Bend-Pak is a first class piece. Trust me, you'll love it. The four post is great, because you can move it, and you can store two cars in one space.

See, people have had cars with more rust then mine. lol
Seems to me rearanging the garage to get one care out is a good excuse to take them all for a little drive to make sure storage hasn't had ill effects on them.
Poor .
Lemme get this straight.......
Your garage has a lift and all those toys in it and you're complaining.
I have no sympathy :hick:
Very Nice stuff there man!;) :burnout:
Id kill to have a garage I can get a car into, much less work on!
You know, I could take a car or two off of your hands so you wouldn't have trouble moving them. Just say the word...
I know, right? I'm such a friggin' whiner...
Dude, I've been following your rust repair. That's not real rust repair.
This is real rust repair...
Oh look! I can see China!
I'm teasing, by the way. You're doing nice work on your Cougar. I'm glad to see people saving them. So many were driven into the ground and then thrown away.
There was, and still is another option for you. Have you ever seen this?

Check out the Videos!
With this you could add 4 more cars to that garage!!
Thanks
That is real rust repair. Ive been there before.
Mine's sort of a fixer upper. I just wish they sold parts like they do for mustangs. Watch, in 5 years they'll start making them. LOL
Wow! I've never seen that before! I couldn't do it here because of the water table, but that might be the coolest garage toy I've ever seen!
You just made my decision as to what I want for my 35th birthday in 3 years. It's for the house too! The wife will not deny me! LOL!
How high are your ceilings? I have the same situation and might be able to talk the wife into a lift or two instead of another garage. Right now I have my garage full of a 70 Bird, 3 65 Birds, a 80 Silver anniversary Bird, a 76 Bird, a 2004 Bird and then my wifes d/d Jeep. Somehow I cant seem to convince her that a Jeep would feel more at home in the outside elements and then I could bring another Bird in.
And you have not started a thread about this car because?
:beatyoass:
Recaros?
I posted pics of it last fall when I went and picked it up. It came from out in Michigan. Its a factory sunroof/cb/digital dash car. I can get you some more pics if you want to see something in particular, therer are also some pics on cardomain with all my other toys. Hope to get some new pics this weekend if I get the garage emptied as I brought home a 83 Heritage monday. I also bought another 80 which I have to go pick up one of these days. Sorry for the thread hi-jack:birdsmily:
Hey, feel free to hijack my threads at will. In my opinion, the best threads are the ones that spin wildly out of control.
My ceilings are 13', but you don't need anywhere near that much height. The ceilings in my former garage were 10'6" and I was able to stack my T-Bird and Mustang convertible with no issues.
X2 Nice rides man. I need a better job.
