i just got the numbers off the diff tag they are v462a o6t54mo6.would some help me out .cars a 85 tbird with a 310 aod 7.5.
Those numbers dont sound right. Take a closer look or a pic.
thats wats a on there the o's might be 0's though .
its real easy. make a reference mark on your tire, and then one on your pinion yoke. spin the tire ONE revolution, and count how many times the pinion yoke turned.
2-3/4 turns equals 2.73 gears.
3 turns equals 3.08 gears.
3-1/4 turns equals 3.27 gears.
3-1/2 equals 3.55 gears.
and so on....
imaguessin you got 3.08's just to put my money there.
FIRST set of numbers on the SECOND line is the ratio... Often the first numeral is mostly covered by the bolt head...
I don't have a set of '85 Shop Manuals, but in '86 462B is a 3.08...
