What is this part? # F7CZ-13405-AH
Mercury tracer tail light?
That's what I found. Looks like it fits a 1997 Tracer.
I read the numbers wrong.Oh well.I just bought one by accident for $4.99.I'll try to re-sell it when it gets here. You win some, you lose some.LOL.
What did you think it was?
I had 2 minutes to figure it out,and I THOUGHT it was a T-Bird left rear light assembly.Man,what an idiot buy that was.Oh well, for $4.99,I didn't get ruined financially.LOL.At least I didn't pay $75.00 and find out I was wrong.I'll find it a new home somewhere.I'll have to sell something on Ebay to make my $4.99 back now.LOL.
You sure it was just $4.99 and not $4.99 plus $29.99 shipping?
food for thought. when you come across a part number like that, you can just copy and paste into the google search bar and 9 times out of 10, you find out exactly what it is within the first few search results.
Thanks,I know that now.
Yes,the shipping is extra, but nowhere near $29.99.it was around $17.00 all together.
Also, the F7 alone tells you its a 1997 part.

and who turned you loose sellin parts:D
Hey,after all the parts I've sold, and all of the parts I've bought in order to sell, one $20.00 mistake is no big deal.I'm sure I can resell it.Wait a week or so and see what I'm going to be listing for sale.I promise, they won't be Mercury Tracer parts.LOL.I wonder what that assembly retails for anyway?Hmmmmmmmmm........................
im just joshing you man,, you do have a busy line of work doing all that im sure.
If you come across a cruise control assembly (with the fender skirt off), sell me a cable clip ,,if possible.
No worries.I can take a joke.I've got that clip on my list.I've got to scroll down and look at that picture again, though to see exactly where it is.
That's true, but the part is not always limited to that year. The F7 tells you it was created for the 1997 model year, but it may have been used much later too. In this case, thanks to Birdman, it looks like it was used in 1997 and 1998. Some parts, such as engine components, can be used for many many years. A "D0xx" part was created for the 1980 model year, but you may see that p/n prefix on parts up into the 90's and beyond. No big deal, I just didn't want anyone to think the prefix guaranteed the year. It can get you close, but it is not absolute. You need the date code for that.
Also, if the part is used in later models and is "improved" or otherwise modified, you may be using a newer part number. For instance, the caliper pins for the TC rear discs originally had an E7 P/N, but that one was obsoleted for the 1F1Z-2V386-BA P/N. This obviously wouldn't apply in the case of tailights :hick: , though I suppose it could have happened with '87-'88 Cougar headlights where they are the same as also used on a Lincoln.
LOL, that's funny! I've had "CRUISE CLIP FOR SCOTT" on my list for the last few weeks as well! Unfortunately I haven't made it out to any yards lately...
Anyway, good luck selling that light! It seems better than what happened to me. Bought a NIB right outer marker lamp and got a rear corner lamp for an MN12 or something...
I got the clip for him.

current list new--123.52
Like I stated earlier,I will try to re-sell it and get my money back.If I can make a few extra, good for me.
double check your math. DOxx numbers are 70s. "E"s are 80s, "F"s are 90s.....:hick:
Of course, you are correct. Note to self: "When trying to APPEAR smart, it helps to actually BE smart." Thanks for the heads-up!
In the long run,I'm still stuck with a light I can never use or need.LOL.
