Title: KOEO test on parts car
Post by: the_intimidator03 on March 26, 2008, 04:27:18 PM
Well i ran the KOEO test on the 88... i couldnt let it warm up so it would explain at least 1 of the codes.. how it came up for me was
i got 2 quick flashes at start with a long pause after then 21, 24, 87
and it repeated itself then it would flash pause flash pause for bout 5 or 6 flashes at end...
the 21 is the engine coolant temp which becuase i couldnt warm the vehicle up would explain that.
the 24 code is IAT or VAT out of range... not 100% sure on this and if it is affected by the motor being warm.
the 87 code is fuel pump electrical system which i think the fuel pump's are gone quite possibly.

Just wanted to see if it all sounded right with yall

The first two are temp related...

The 87 is telling you there is no voltage being fed to the pump(actually no voltage back to the EEC, but it's the same feed) from the F/P relay... So you have either a bad relay, maybe a fuse wire open or bad ground on the relay... I've seen one case on a 2.3T where the relay driver was bad in the EEC and it was the computer causing the problem...

ok well i tested electrical to the inertia switch and bypassed that i need to cut a hole on the floorpan back there to the fuel pump to see if it gets electricity there.  i did jump the fuel relay so i know its going past that.
