I was under the impression Land Rove was profitable for them.....:dunno:
Talk about India getting even with the "British Empire"
Land Rover made the most Fugly Suv's i have ever bared witness to , i hated all LR's except the Escape twin that they had. Jaguar being sold is just a disappointment though because i like quite a few models in Jaguar's line.
I've had the oppurtunity to Drive a 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged with every available option. If I could afford it, I'd put my wife into one. Fantastic IMHO.
I am not one for Suv's in the first place so Land Rover holds no interest.
Put her as the down payment? Throw her against the side of it? Shame, Shame!:nono:
It's too bad to see them sell but I'm sure it's for the good. I never heard of Tata until the early news of this a while back so that was somewhat surprising.
God my buddy just got a rover
I LOVE IT.
underpowered little BMW motor in it yes, but god shes a good off road vehicle, and a sweeet crusier!
Check out these beautiful Tatas:

Tata was also considering buying part of Ferrari
Also, dont' get Tata confused with Tatra :) http://jalopnik.com/cars/la-auto-show/la-auto-show-a-french-tatra-called-faurecia-322890.php
Thank god.
I work for RockAuto and ill tell you one thing.
Land rover may make good vehicles but god forbid you need to find parts. So many variations of the same vehicle and mid year changes that even Land Rover itself cant figure it out. The most fruustrating vehicles to find correct parts for EVER.
I wonder what the tata's crash rating is?
Ah, so Tata finally got their financing in order. They've been trying to cut a deal since, I think, before Christmas. Last week they pushed back the deadline yet again, saying something about price guarantees on existing engines and transmissions, but it was all a beard to buy time to get the cash together. It was looking like they wouldn't be making the purchase until mid summer.
Good for Tata. India is in the early stages of a huge boom (think China without the red) and for every ten One Lakh Tatas, there will be a high roller in his Jag. They will have the cash, and ambition, to bring Jaguar back to a world tech leader again, since the idea of making a $2500 car (speaking of Ford's pioneering days) means massive volume in a nation of over a billion people. Tata's going to have money to burn.
Say "ta ta" to Land Rover and Jaguar.
Hopefully Ford can focus more on their core business with these boat anchors gone.
