I had this emblem that looked like ass:

And figured i would further strip it down and re-paint it or something.
However, There was a nice shine coming through spots where i was sing away:

So i dug deeper:

What do ya know! With some work, You can get all the junk off and have a nice mirror finnish grille emblem!

I just used Q-Tips, Paint thinner for the paint/glue/sticky junk removal, Acetone for the more baked on stuff as well as some sing, Especially around the edges.
It comes out really nice, These pictures do it no justice... I'm glad i took the time to do it.
Shinyyyy:

Nice work. It's nice to be able to improve parts we have for no money, and little effort.
I would say well worth the effort, nice job.
Nice no money mod about how long did it take to clean it up? still looks like some effort.
Maybe I'll have to take some paint stipper to a spare one. Thanks for the idea!
Took about an hour from start to finnish, maybe less.
Theres several layers you need to get through:
Plastic Covers~Pry off with an exacto knife or fingernail
Paint~Paint thinner is what i used
Thick gloopy glue stuff~Finger nail sing and then paint thinner on the remainder is what i used
More solid glue/The baked on stuff~Used sing and acetone to remove.
The hardest part was getting to the baked on glue stuff from the corner and edges, It kind of looks like pitting or wear in the chrome some of the time, But with some work it starts to come up.
I tried mostly using my fingernail, but for the tough stuff i i got piece of sharp edged thin but strong wood (used a wood clothes line clip) The chrome finnish underneath was so nice that i had to be really careful not to leave se lines/marks in it.
I found after getting it down to a thin layer, that acetone took it right up with some wiping.
So its that for all 83-86 T-Birds might not get to do that but hopefully i might get a older Bird or Cat somewhere down the line.
