some what..

but i have drove quite a few..
at my last job in Brooklyn NY
1976 dm 225hp with a leach 25 yard garbage body and a dual stick "low haul!" 1978 dm 225hp single stick 5spd with the same body.. 25 yard 2001 350hp mack with a 8 spd road ranger,31 yard 2004 450hp mack granite.. this had a 6 spd auto.. boring! all had engine brakes.. and an 84 autocar 25 yard 325hp with a 8 spd road ranger "old style" shift pattern..
--- 1 4  throw.  5 8
low 2 3  switch  6 7

i loved that transmission  you had to shift it like i pro stock race car  :D

not a mack fun to drive in the narrow streets of Brooklyn.. :D you need a telescope to see over the nose of that truck.. all the old macks and the autocar had no lers just straight pipes for a long time.. deafening .. until the law said to put the lers back on.. lol i guess the people in town did'nt like getting woken up at 3am:evilgrin:

and meny other macks at other jobs.. i drove about a half a dozen macks with a dual stick low hual in it.. a fun transmission to use exspecialy in reverse:D

We had a fleet of just over 40 of them. DR's and RD's. all tandem and Tri-Axle dumps except for 1 day-cab lowboy.
