Title: Buying a new car...
Post by: cougrrr302 on March 06, 2008, 01:18:06 AM
Well my truck is nickel and diming me to death, and I found a nice, really clean 2004 Grand Am GT, 2 door, Black, Ram Air, Ram Air Hood, Moon roof, Monsoon System, with 57k on it. $10,500. What do you think? Kind of a chick car, but I need something with good gas mileage and reliable, and this thing just cruises, and I baby it so much. I abused the truck, this thing is just so nice. If anyone wants to buy the truck Im taking all offers into consideration. I'll get pics of the car. A few minors scratches, and one dent are all this thing has, I have been driving it for the past week and have put quite a few miles on it, and I like it alot. Im still test driving it, since I work at the dealership, so I'll be signing my life away soon.. Pics soon.

I can't stand the interiors on those cars... Outside's not bad. It'd be a good commuter.

doesnt hurt to search a bit before considering another car my friend has had 3 grand ams(97, 99 and 2002) and even though he likes the car all have had the same cronic problems, blowning intake manifold gaskets, cracking radiators and constant electrical problems. these problems arent exclusive to the grand am btw. they are nice cars but my intrest in them went when they stopped equiping them with manual trannies. just my :2c:

Thats right! The electrical problems! My buddy had new door lock actuators window actuators, and a bunch of switchs and other things replaced cause his car was ****ing up.

guy at my work has about a 99. None of the guages work in it, two of his four windows don't roll up, and his drivers side seat doesn't work. Odometer doesn't work either. He could prolly trade it in for a good bit at a dealer. He was also a mechanic for 15 years and knows how to take care of a car. He changes his shoes everytime he gets in it.

the wife has an 03 ols. alero...same thing basically as a grand am gt without the retarded interior. it goes okay. i wouldnt realy say it "moves" but it has enough pickup to murge and pass on the highway decent. no problems with the car other than front brakes avery 30k miles and i need to put new hubs in the front very soon....60k miles. good car so far, for a gm product.
