I agree, wheels/tires make the car. It's amazing the difference even a stock set of 10-holes can make on the looks of a  car that originally had 14-inchers with ugly hubcaps...

Or even just going from white walls to white letters.  I couldn't beleive the difference on my car.

I wash the mud off of my car.
serously though wide tires kick all kinds of ass.

its pretty supprising what even a set of turbines will do to these cars. they look 10 times better on them than they did on mustangs. IMHO, wheels and tires can make the biggest impact and can be changed easilly to give the car a totaly different attitude and look....

wheels and tires... ppl could care less what my car was when i had the turbines on. most didn't know it was a ford. *lol* the Cobras really brought the car to life. *nod* every time i walked into a car parts store i get tons of questions. not that i care for them... kinda makes me uneasy about my car's safety when a complete stranger comes up to me and tells me where they've seen my car. not cool.

I would have to say cleanness:

Or cleanness with a set of nice rims:

Even ground effects and a paint scheme do the trick

Definitely wheels and tires for starters. After that, I guess it depends on your taste and what car you have.

I have a base '87 T-Bird, and at least from the front I found that adding fog lamps helped a lot. I wanted a semi-stock look so I got Pilot PL-220 clear fog lamps, which are small enough to fit in the non-TC air dam openings. You have to rig up spacers and mount them to the fiberglass bumper behind the air dam, but they look like they came with the car and make it look a lot more sporty (bonus: get the fog lamp panel and switch from a T/C and use those for a really stock feel -- I already had autolamp and auto-dim so there was only one thing to add).

Wheels and tires, yes....

Here is very hard to find a nice set of wheels for fox cars (i had 3 sets of three diferent wheels, but guess what ? i only have 3 wheels for each set.....)

For now, i´m using 15´s wheels from a Ford Contour.....Not recommended....

I have to go with SSX on this one.  Solid raised white letter tires (like BFGoodrich Radial T/A's)  definately make a big difference.  :D

No question....wheels can make or break a car. You can have a killer paint job and that, but put the wrong wheels on the car and it will look like ass. To me, wheels are single most important item in terms of the getting "the look" that grabs attention from people. The only problem nowadays with wheels is if you want to be unique you generally have to spend some pretty big money 'cause stuff like Cobra R's (which look great on a Bird obviously) won't make you happy if you want to be unique....way too many people have them now (one of my primary reasons for ditching them)

I'm glad someone else sees it the same way!  For God's sake, I saw a Ford Contour the other day with some sort of Cobra's on it.  A Contour!

I know one thing's fer sure: when I get to upgradin' the wheels on mine, I'm gonna put on some Bullit wheels, black spokes and silver or chrome rims...
I agree that Cobra R's look  good, but they're evewhere these days... :disappoin

Those look a lot like the wheels I'm gonna use when I get the 5-lug conversion done, the wheels are stock Lincoln Continental heels..., they're currently on the wife's '89 'Bird, that has terminal....problems...
LOL

Got my inspiration from a couple different GrandMa(rqui)s I saw around town with those wheels.

Those are good lookin wheels, similar to the BBS wheels, but if I'm not mistaken(which is possible), I don't believe those are 5x4 1/2 bolt pattern, but the newer bolt pattern that was used on the MN12 chassis vehicles.

They are the 5-on-4.5 pattern, but the ones fordtruckfreek has (from a Continental) are the 4.25" spacing. I want the CV/GM wheels as well...
