My trusty HP that's 4 years old started to die on me (the kind where you slide open the lens cover to turn it on, the slider was going fritzy so the dam thing would turn and off on it's own). I complained about it to the better half and she immediately produces this week's OfficeMax ad, "Olympus FE-210 Digital Camera, was $169, on sale for $69!".
I also happened to have a $10 off coupon for them... So I went and got one and the accompanying memory card (on sale for $17).
Really nice camera! 7.1MP, 2.5"LCD screen, a REAL on/off button, uses 2 regular AA batteries, and has all sorts of cool features I'm still learning. Takes GREAT movies too!
They're on sale until OfficeMax runs out, so if you need a new point-and-click do yourself a favor and go pick one up.
The document mode takes GREAT timeslip pictures :shakeass:
Is it compatible with Window's XP?
Also, what size memory card comes with it?
I have XP, and yes it is compatible.
It does not come with a memory card (and internal memory only holds 20-30 7.1MP pictures). It uses an "xD" card, I bought a 1GB Olympus brand one from the same Office Max for $17 on sale (from $39.99). It holds roughly 565 pictures at 7.1MP.
You posted all this and not a single actual picture? You fail!
Haha thats what I was thinking.
LOL... thanks for the info!!
Maybe he's still breaking in the camera by taking pictures of "The Captain".
Which would explain the need for the zoom lens.ZING!!! :hick:
OUCH! lol
LMFAO owned!
You take pictures of 'The Captain' and don't post them here? Fail.
Ahahahaha!! you Eric!
You should know I only take pictures of cars ;) I guess I'll stop ripping parts off of the Sport for awhile and take some more 'Vic pics...

Hi Mike,
Does this camera have an email mode that will take a picture in the 80kb or so size? This is what you need for taking pictures for forums.
A lot of cameras coming out now will not take a small picture. I know can resize them and get them smaller but I just do not want to do this for every picture I take.
TED
It does have that Ted, I just haven't figured that feature out yet.
Downloading the pics now...
PS - You coming down to PIR anytime soon? ;)
Hey Ted, check out Microsoft's free Image Resizer Powertoy. You can right click on one, or many pictures and quickly resize them all so you can post them. Its a great little utility that allows you to take full size pictures and keep them, but quickly upload smaller versions on forums. Its great so you don't have to load up Photoshop to resize a bunch of pictures.
It's near the bottom of the list:

This will take pictures that are really small/close up. There is a setting on it for that.
P71, the button on the back that had the flower on it.... press that one. Then there are a couple settings.... the one that is at the bottom (S +flower pict) is the one that does really close up pictures. It tells you this on your screen when you press that button.
Yeah, like this :D (Fuji S7000 in super macro mode)

Thanks for the tip
YOU Cougar5.0!!
I HATE spiders!!
Lol
Here's some pics! :hick:
The first is just a point-and-click on auto. See the tiny little American flag? Same flag in pic 2 fully zoomed. Keep in mind these pics are 3100xsomething at 300dpi before i ham-fistedly resized them ;)
