been working on a 2002 Chevy S-10, new fuel pump, and filter, and it's not getting gas still.
The pump kicks on when the key is turned, but nothing else.
It has the 2.2 Flex-fuel engine.
There's no pressure on the schrader valve, and I don't have a way to test codes.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. :D
Are you sure the pump is turning on? Get a bucket (rubber preferably) and disconnect the feed line from the tank at the fuel filter....Turn the key on. What happens?
Well, to amend what I said earlier, I HEAR the pump, but have not verified fuel is coming out...was going to do just that in a few, just eating a bite right now, and thought I'd post for some ideas.
Thanks Paul!
maybe clogged filter or fuel lines
UPDATE:
no fuel comes out of the filter, but the pump audibly clicks on for about 3 seconds.
The owner of said truck has to go to town to work, so I'm not able to explore it anymore for the time being, but I'm going to disconnect the lines between the pump and filter and see if fuel comes out BEFORE the filter.
:hick:
That may have one of those fuel damper things. I believe its on the sending unit. We sold them at autozone because they went bad.

The pump was the wrong one.
Too bad I discovered it AFTER I put the thing in.
The truck runs great now that we've got the right pump in it...
oh yeah....list price was like 620 bucks for the fugger..:flame:
glad I didn't havta pay for it! ;)
Even with those big ass fuel pump / sending unit / float combo units, the actual pump itself is removeable and replaceable. could have saved 550 dollars.
Just another reason I dont want to work on my Sonoma anymore. S series trucks are bad about fuel pumps, ball joints and numerous other problems. Im glad I got my Grand Am now. Intake Gaskets are my only worry, and they are usually farther along.
I mentioned it...but...:flame:
