Title: Interior Door handle?
Post by: Dansbirds on February 21, 2008, 04:52:48 PM
The pass side inner door handle on my 87 bird has become quite sloppy. It never bothered me that much but now that my son is 16 I get a bit more seat time on the pass side and figure I shall fix it before having to go Dukes of Hazzard style. Any common things that break here? Figure I would rather get the parts before taking the door apart. Thanks in advance for all your help and insight.

ps, is there anywhere to get good doors for one of these as the bottom of mine are ruff

And I disassembled the door just to take a picture for you!

But seriously, the pull-strap cover is easy.  Gently pry it off the cover using a thin flat-edge screwdriver.  Try starting at the bottom edge.  It snaps on and off.  The straps are secured by a single screw on each end.

Yes, I know, but I need a photo for one man, who's hunting parts for me in US and isn't sure what I need.
