I figured id post this hear because our vehicles do have struts. altho the vehicle im working on and that these questions pertain to has a strut/coil combo. My question is.... how do we torque the dampener shaft nut down if the shaft continues to spin? there at the top of the shaft is the threaded portion, then a smooth portion that is flat on 2 sides and rounded on the other? any idea's please tryin to finish this car soon its a family friends 2004 kia (yeck i know)

use an open-end wrench to hold the stud, then another open-end wrench to tighten the nut.
the problem im having with that is the upper mount for the spring. wont allow anything but a 90 degree wrench to work in there. Thank you ill have to see if i can make it work.
