Title: Price on E7's?
Post by: 88XR7 on February 18, 2008, 12:23:12 AM
How much would you be willing to pay for perfect condition E7's with rocker arms and valve guide seals with 50-100 miles on them(the seals), if you knew the seller was being honest?

Not too much.I bought a used pair for $50.00 from a pickup, had new valve guide seals, valves and springs put in,plus porting and a 3 angle valve job for $150.00.Better than new.All for $200.00 total.I'd pay a hundred bucks,no more than that. You can buy seals cheap, and if you can get the heads cheap enough, you can probably do your own for a hundred..

$200 is what a average to expensive valve job costs. But remember, the e7's aren't like the holy grail. There's one on every mustang and truck...

That's a great deal. Now,get the H.O throttlebody and spacer if you don't already have them. They are ultra cheap. Also, grab the Stang headers and h-pipe as well. You might as well upgrade the exhaust while your at it to take advantage of the engine mods you're going to do.

Got everything but the headers and hpipe. I have a line on some headers (several sets, maybe) for dirt cheap. Also, I know it's too large for my set up, but the guy also has an almost new BBK off road h pipe for cheap. It is the one for the shorties. He took it off his Stang and went long tubes...

Little update, I picked up the h-pipe and headers yesterday...paid 60.00  The guy would not come down. I was ready to walk away, but at 3.16 per gallon and after a 40 mile trip each way, I paid him...still got a good deal, I think. I say wait and watch, you can find good deals. This was for factory shorties, BBK catless h-pipe and the flow tubes...

Wanna come down and show me how? j/k. Now I gotta save up for the gasket and head bolt set. I think I'll put on a new h2o pump and of course I still have to buy timing chain and gears...
