SO my wife goes in to get her some cheap tires for her cavy. I get to look at the car for the first time this week Washed the car (was done 2-11) they sell her 2 tires needed 3 (3rd is an odd size 195/75 ) well thats were the issues start. ill list these below
1. paid for 185/75/14's got 185/70's on the front.
2. they broke the driver door lock.
3. wanted 30.00 to replace a lug nut that it wasnt missing and now is.
How would you handle this.now i have a car with 3 differant tire sizes
gonna call them asap in the morning.
Don't go to Sprawl-Mart for auto service.
I've got tires from Wal-Mart a few times.Never had an issue.Give them a chance to make everything right. If they refuse,go to the big boss and get it handled.Get what you paid for,and what is owed for damages.Take an estimate of the repair needed for the lock.
she had one put on about a month ago so I told her to go ahead and replace the other 3 to make a matched set.
I do everything eles on the car and just had the wheels off to put struts all the way around.
never used wally world, always sams club
Def go and tell them they messed up, and ask for it to be fixed. You have a receipt so that should be easy, as far as the lock, not sure they will pay for that
My friend used to be the manager at the service dept. at our local wal-Mart,and,on occassion, things go wrong, just like anyshop that does any kind of service.I've seen them replace wheel covers (hubcaps),lug nuts, radiator caps, etc.People make mistakes.I have had Wal_mart troubles before (not in the automotive part),and have always had success getting things right.Good luck.
Well you have a receipt for the work. I assume the tires are all the same brand, just diff. sizes. the shop manager should see that someone didn't care to look before they installed them.
I suppose the broken lock could have happened to anyone (don't know what was broken)
I guess a calm tone would go the farthest with the manager.
I'm sure the rest of the forum will all handle it differently
Walmart will pretty much bend over backwards to make things right. They can afford to.
Thought they shouldnt have to in the first place, go somewhere else from now on. Walmart will hire anyone to work there.
I had my oil changed in my 79 chevy with a 350 in it once a few years ago.first time I ever took any of my vehicles anywhere I always do my own, well they come in and tell me they drained the oil but while trying to get the filter off they broke 3 tools and cant get it off. they still tried charging me the while price for the oil change when they left me with a severely crushed filter and new oil. I ended up changing it on my own when I got home.
Stuff like that can happen anywhere. You all have heard the mecanic shop horror stories, which,is probably why we do our own wor anyway. We don't trust anyone else but ourselves.
i know people that work at wal mart and won't take there cars there to get worked on. my wife went and got tires when i was out of town. she went to wal mart. about 1 month later they refused to fix a flat because a lug nut was missing. showed them my paper work where they installed the tires 1mo ago. they still wouldn't fix it i had to go get the store manager. that got me fixed up. they even replaced the missing lug nut. i wouldn't recomend going there but if they are the only place open that day you gotta do what you gotta do.
Been boycotting Chinamart since 2004. I don't miss the place in the least.
+1
I can proudly say I've never purchased a product from Walmart. Their overseas business practices are even more appaling then what they do in the U.S.
well if you need to file any complaints move up and talk wtih store manager of the store and if nothing is done i can get you the number to the home office. i dont particularly care for walmart and the way they practice business... im currently looking to get OUT asap
I had a red 84 coug that is gone now.
anyway, the wal mart guys put it on a lift and the pads were flipped up for soem odd reason. they lifted the car up with the flpped up pads directly on the bottom of the car near the rockers. they bent my rockers in and on one side, the metal flpped up pad went right through my car skin and made a hole.
I was very young then and didnt know how to fight things like this and they let me walk on out pissed off. I honestly didnt have a clue how to handle it back then other than be mad. once i was off the lot, they were off the hook cause i could not prove a thing.
Talked with them today going thursday to meet with the manager.
