Our cars are notorious for being a pain to trouble shoot HVAC problems. When i got my cat i was told the blower motor wasnt workin right thus the reason for no air blowing out of anywhere.
i get my glove box moved drop the blower motor and find almost no gasket foamy stuff between it and the heater box. Futher investigation revealed a cracks and missing pieces in the lower half of the heater box so even if my blower motor was blowing into the box it would just blow out.
While im here fixing this if guessed i should do the heater core since i needed to fix the box. I go to loosen the hose clamps and pop the lines off the core under the hood and realized someone had cut the firewall so you can just pull the silliconed firewall pices apart (it aint a purdy job) and wiggle the core out no sweat.
Im so incredibly pissed right now!!
I need someone that can weld a patch into the firewall now and a complete HVAC assy. less the dash pieces and hoses.
If anyone knows where i could pick up a few of the parts i need let me know... if your just gonna laugh and humilate me, Laugh away....:toilet:
HA!
No, but... that sucks.
I wish you were closer.I know my favorite yard has about 20 of these Foxes and sell stuff CHEAP.
Vinnie, you need to start an online store with a shopping cart
I've actually thought about starting a small business on the side to address quality used parts needs for our cars, but just haven't had the time, space,or initial money to start it up.I still grab what I can when I can to sell, and use.I know where a total of about 30 Fox cars are at a few different yards right now,and can probably find more if I take the time.I have bought larger items for people here, but have been left holding the parts after I bought them because they changed their minds.Wiring harnesses, radiator, brackets, etc.Small items are easy, and sometimes free for me,but the large items cost, and I can't afford to buy when I don't get paid.I don't like the risk.If it were my only job,it may be different, but I have a good job that pays the bills, and parts selling is how I fund the Sport's needs.....and wants.Next Saturday,in Decatur Texas,is a HUGE parts swap meet.No telling what you'll find there.I bought a Cobra intake for $75.00 and sold it FAST when I got home.I'm hoping to find a few cool things this year as well.
87crzycooch i tell you to call stutes mans auto salvage. it is south of ozark on hwy 65 last time i was there they had a red 87-88 cougar in nice looking condition. maybe even call tigger creek down in kirbyville. they let you pull your own parts. also i have parts car 88 cougar that you could come down and pull some parts for cheap. let me know i'm off today and tomorrow.
Vinnie, I might make it to that swap meet. If so, we should meet up.
Just so this isn't a complete threadjacking, 87crzypssy, having the firewall cut may not be a completely bad thing. If you fix the poor job but leave the firewall access, the next time the HC goes bad, you're golden, right?
Hey,T3skidoo,I'll probably be wearing my Redwing boots, blue jeans,Dickies blue workshirt, and if it's cold,or cool,my blue and black leather Ford racing jacket.
