Title: complete suspension going through
Post by: ~AC on February 15, 2008, 02:37:37 AM
The car just walked over 150,000 miles and it needs the suspension completely gone through.  the car isnt bent but it turns left different than it does right.  so i need springs, struts, etc.

the thing is all i can think of is a complete bushing kit, springs, struts, and MAYBE rear shocks b/c they only have about 10,000 miles on them. i'm thinkin really hard about the balljoints b/c with warped rotors i think they take a thrashing.  what else am i missing thats a good thing to do after 150,000 miles.

also, any suggestions for brand of parts?  which struts, bushings, springs (thinkin mach 1 but i might be too stock) etc.  i dont think im in a box on this b/c it should be cheap enough.  i kinda wanna keep stock on the spring, so im probably be limited on choice of springs other than aftermarket, eh?

buisness has picked up.

You might need tie rods.  CC plates are a nice upgrade.  Install grease fittings in the BJs, a/s bar bushings, and maybe the control arms, depending on the bushings.

I'd get underneath the front end and check the a/s bar frame mounts.  While that's apart it would be a good time to repair that.  Max Motorsports, and maybe others, sell a reinforcement plate that's welded in place.

I'm going over mine this spring as well, or at least the front end (strut mounts, new shocks & struts all around, new lower control arms)

I'd like to buy at least lower control arms for the rear, but I dunno yet if I'm gonna or not.
