Title: One of these things is not like the others
Post by: t3skidoo on February 14, 2008, 05:29:55 PM
Can't get that tune out of my head.  Got the 2nd set of wheels back from getting matched.  Will have some pics of the them on the car soon, and will see if that solves my clearance issues.

The blue is protective film, all of them had it at some point.

The "deep" one is a spare of those on the car now.  These completely lame pics show how they fit.  All the wheels are the same diameter and width, differing only with offset.

You might be able to see that the wheels on the car have an offset for an '04 Mustang.  The rears tuck into the fenders quite nicely.  The fronts stick out a little too much in the front - my sig shows the car before the control arms were relocated. The "new" wheels have an offset about half of the "old" ones, so they will be very close.

I'm happy with the ride height and alignment but not the spring rate.  With the new springs, the arch lips might need to be massaged a little just to make sure there isn't a clearance issue.

Now I've got two complete sets of wheels.  Maybe second set gets race rubber?

I was hoping to post some non-IR pics of the car with the new wheel combo.

Nope.  Nobody around here has those tires, order only.

So, I loaded and trucked two wheels and two wheels with tires to the local NTB, who said they'd swap the tires on the rims for $16/tire.  Discount wants $25/tire.  A few hours later they want to know who mounted tires because they "can't get them off the rims without tearing up the tires."  I didn't try discount, just ordered some more tires.

I have a headache.
