Hey Ya'll, I dont want this to into a "I'm sorry for you" thread or anything like that. I just need to rant a little.
I had eye surgery on my right eye in the begining of Feburary. They had to remove scar tissue from behind my retina which caused fluid to get behind it so it started to detach. The doctors when in removed the scar tissue, lasered my retina, and put some oil in it to help my retina stay attached. What sucks is that I cant do anything not even read for 2-3 months. The worst part is I cant even see 2 ft in front of me.
I just hope I'll be able to see when June 21st rolls around so I can actually see my bride walk down the isle when I get married.
Thank you all for letting me rant just a littler bit.
That's rotten, man. I have really bad eyes, myself, so I can appreciate not being able to see past 2'. At the same time, I feel pretty lucky to have what sight I do. Here's hoping it clears up sooner than later.
so how did you post this then?
congrats or condolences on the marriage, LOL:hick:
Me too. See the right eye is the only eye I have left. My left is completely gone from the same problems I have on my right eye. The doctors didnt catch it time.
With my face right up to the monitor.
Get OFF the computer and rest, you could **** up your eye even more man.... take care of it..
Hey RJ, keep in mind, that if he can't read, drive or work, he has to catch a break somehow and have some venting/relaxation time.
I'm guessing a small amount of time on the computer for him to vent is within the parameters of what he's allowed to do......
That being said...
Please don't over do it with your eyes man, I have really bad eyes and without my glasses, I can't see more than 6 inches in front of me (clearly),,, everything is really fuzzy beyond that.
Take care of yourself.
Dont worry guys I know my limitations. The doctor told me I could watch tv to past the time, but whenever my eye starts to hurt to close it.
I'm getting really tired of it right now. This surgery is actually the easiest out of the whole 20 surgeries ive had. When I was younger, I had to keep my face down for at least 6 months.
My buddy had 2 detached retinas and he went through exactly what you're going through. Your body will heal itself, it just takes time. He had his last surgery in the fall (mid-November) and JUST got cleared to go back to work a few weeks ago. This is his second surgery on the same eye. I think once it starts to detach, that's a problem you're going to have to deal with the rest of your life.
Anyhow...hang in there, we'll be here for support, but don't overdo it either. No pr0n surfing for you!!! ;)
I'm sure Will will more than make up for it. :rollin:
Ain't that the truth. I've been having retnal detachments ever since I was about seven years old. I done lost my left eye cause of it.
i have very poor vision as well(-14.5 refract factor + astigmatism). i have also had surgery to prevent detached retinas in both eyes.
hope ya heal up good, and quickly.
