Droped the tank of my bird today and removed the rear end and have some questions about part numbers. They are out of my 88 tc
Fuel pump has these numbers on it:
Walbro
e9sf-9350-ba
aof060
14491-2
is this a stock replacement or did someone put in a better pump?
rear end has:
v497b
3L45 75 5c25
I know its not the stock one because it has drums.
Thanks guys
Walbro is the pump manufacturer and with the E9SF part number on it, it would have been a Ford supplied part.
E9 = 1989
So it probably was replaced with a newer pump at some point, but not necessarily always true.
Sometimes when there is a mid-year design change on a production part, it will have a newer year part number assigned to it.
On the rear end
3L45 = 3:45 gear ratio and the "L" is traction-lock.
75 = 7.5" ring gear.
The original rearend in your car would have been an 8.8" with disc brakes.
The gear ratio would have been 3:55 if it was a manual trans. and 3:73 if it was an auto.
