Title: Pics of The Bird engine and Then Some! (grab a nap 56K)
Post by: Superman on February 26, 2005, 11:32:29 PM
The first few pics are of our new addition to the family
She was born December 28, 2004, she's a sheltie, we have one that is going to be 4 on April 4. Our 14 year old sheltie died february 3 so my sister decided to go buy this one. her name is Jersie like Jersey but we put in ie because of our other dogs, Trixie(dead) and Tallie(4).

Also, that sand blaster cabinet we built, we started monday and finished it friday night. about 200 dollars worth there, not including the sand blaster.

i think i said, we made it for 200 bucks. we just started with a plasma cutter and a mig welder. we made the funnel, then pounded it back to almost square, then we made the side pieces, the front, the angle, back and top, cut a whole in the front for glass and stuck a piece in there. its removable but we need to put caulk in there cause the glass bead likes to fly out the tiny holes. the door is on the other side and ahs two truck topper handles holding it shut with foam to seal it. we have a whole in there for the sandblaster, which we got for about 120 from the local tool store. then we put a light in there and then a bigger hole, the one filled with paper for a shop vac, but we found out we didn't need it because it didn't make much dust. we had to refill the blaster 4 times with the beads and they were getting dirty so it was getting a little dusty so we might hook up the vac tomorrow. its really fun. we need to put a pistol grip on the handle though. it was about

120 for blaster
200 for metal
5 for light

wait, maybe the metal wasn't that expensive. i don't remember, we got 2 sheets of 16 gauge. i can't remember how big they were though. the angle iron we had laying aorund and we also bought the grate.

that is nice... i was envious.  Now all you need is a big foam pollishing wheel.... get you some rubbing compund and a nice polish for them covers and paint that pan and will the case fit a tranny???  yep... nice parts.  and it's a cool mower deck too.

god i love DSL

Cute dog!

Let's hear about the motor you are building.  Unless I've gone goofy, I'd say you're building up a V-6.  Looks good!  Keep it up!

not build, just rebuilding, spun a bearing. got the heads shaved and the cylinders bored. 203,000 miles and the first rebuild, not bad. but the head gaskets where changed at 140 i guess the previous owner said.

You'll be running with the stock crank, camshaft, and intake manifold, right?  What's your overbore?

Those pistons look great by the way.
