Title: acceleration issues
Post by: billboehm on January 27, 2008, 03:22:14 PM
For some reason vwhen i stomp on the gas, the throttle takes another 3 seconds or so to even get a clue that i wanna move fast. Anybody know why and how to fix it?

95 Cougar XR7 4.6L only mod so far is a K&N pod filter in the engine compartment (not in the fender yet)

Was the MAF meter on my '95 Tbird 4.6...

You need to learn how to read codes... A little searchin in the past posts will go a long way...

ya my check engine light is on so codes could be it. i took it to autozone once to get it looked at and it threw a few codes that i had no idea what they were. i'll get it checked again when the tax returns come and get them fixed. and if it is the throttle position sensor, will a 97 throttlebody get me more horses?

without knowing what codes came up, it's useless trying to throw parts at it...from the sounds of it, I would assume it's a MAF issue...often times on the 4.6 cars the MAF sensors are VERY sensitive to K&N filters.  It had to do with the oils in the filter.
