Title: giving up on the junk yard
Post by: blain_gatterdam on January 19, 2008, 11:52:06 PM
I cant remember if i posted on here before. well if this is my first

HI EVERYONE!

lol, well I've been searching junkyards for doors without terminal cancer and haven't had any luck. i guess Ohio's snow and salt eats away any t bird/ cougar that crosses with it. I haven't had a chance to look at Midwest fender here in Ohio to see if they can make a new door (if they're even open)

i heard they had a nasty fire a few years back.

The best doors i find either have the wrong lip at the door protector, or they don't have the key less touch pad. Maybe someone knows a good door/ fender place to get a shiny new door? (well, doorS and a trunk lid? lol)

thanks

-blaino

Welcome!  A few of us are just 15 minutes away.  We'll have to get together sometime.

Anyway,  I'm sick of pick'n'pull too.  They never have any foxes anymore.

I know Makees in nelsonville  has some cars.  You might give them a call.  740-753-1100

They know what they have in stock.  And if you want to get together and go to that yard let me know.  I know a few buddys that would be interested.

You can thank high s prices for that. S metal is at record high prices so all the yards are crushing everything they can. Older metal such as our cars doesn't stand a chance.

Its the same here. 90s cars are getting hard to find. I drive past 3 JYs every day. all they do is s everything. and what they don't is a big rusted mess.

My son called around for anything cougar or T-bird related and all he found was a shell of a 70s cougar

I can't believe that I finally found a door with no rust after looking for 6 years, it just takes time and once I counted 13 t-birds and now he has 2 but one of the ones had no rust. I think the other has very small spot and the inside is clean but FL is pretty far

I guess if I don't find a door by spring I'll just cut the bottom skin off and bend up a new one. It may be my only choice. even if I found one in ohio the gas to get it would cost me $150 plus the cost of the door.

Fox cars don't last long in yards here anymore....Usually a week at most.....I call around about once a month or so.  The pickins have been slim as of late...
