What songs does everybody thrash on cars to in the garage?
I`ll start with nothing but Children of Bodom. Songs s of bodom, are you dead yet?, living dead beat and hate me! Yea I`m a metal head. It`s gotta be loud for me to wake up in the morning, gets the blood going first thing in the day to head bang lmao.

Same as the last post, but add on 70s stuff too. Everything from the Doobie Brothers to Alice Cooper.

nothing like 70-90's rock to work to. as long as its a quick beat, and a decent song, its good to work to!

If I'm just putzing around the garage, any classic rock/modern rock will do.

If I'm doing some hardcore wrenching it has to rock. Tenacious D, Manson, Zombie, Papa Roach (1st album only), Static-X, Disturbed, etc.

My 70's y/o retired neighbor thinks I'm nuts until I calm down and put the Zeppelin back in (which is still to hardcore for him). So if he wanders over we might break out the 50's rock.

For general garage work I've got a couple of MP3 CD's loaded with 80's hair metal and some of the newer prog-rock (whatever they call it nowadays, bands like Nickelback, Hawsley Workmen, etc). Sometimes I'll be in a Judas Priest kind of mood, in which case I stuff an MP3 disc containing their entire library spanning four decades into the boombox.

One exception: Whenever I'm doing electrical work in the T-Bird it absolutely, positively MUST be Styx. Way back when I had my '85 T-Bird and was installing my first aftermarket stereo I connected power, ground, and one speaker wire so I could have something to listen to while finishing up the installation. I slipped the Styx-Greatest Hits tape that my brother bought me for my birthday into the deck and now whenever I listen to Styx it brings me right back to that day. Since I associate Styx with working on T-Bird electronics, naturally I associate T-Bird electronics with Styx :hick:

Maiden, Helloween, sort of stuff. but if I'm mellowin and workin, Styx and Scorpions and Kiss always work. Good sing along stuff

I dunno where I got in the habit, but I don't listen to music while working on the car.  I've thought about it, but i never get around to doing it.  I'd prolly get spaced out and start air guitar with a breaker bar or something (b/c i also listen to children of bodom, cannibal corpse, dethklok (b/c its basically a fake band and the legends colaborate in the songs) watersun, against me!, as i lay dying, in flames, mors principium est, ect ect ect.  good tire thrashin music, just not good workin in the garage music.  i guess i could listen to some allman brothers or marshall tucker band and the like stuff while im in there, but its my dad's garage and all i can set up in there is maybe an alarm clock (woo) :shoothead

Lately it's been a lot of The Grateful Dead; Medeski, Martin & Wood; Robert Cray Band; Genesis (old).
I used to park the tuner on the local oldies station, but lately it seems that it's all advertising and the same 20 mainstream songs I've heard a million times before. Ahh, Clear Channel.
You will never hear any country, metal or rap floating out of my garage.
