I bought a set of new replacement head lights (not the bulb) for my 87 XR7 and the head light versus bucket appear to be about 1/2 inch different. :hick:  Does any one know if there is a dimension differance from tbirds to cougars? It is the only thing I can think of or these are for some other ford all together.

The bird headlamp is different.

As soon as I get the heads back from the machine shop,and get some more soending money,I'm buying a new set for the sport from Ebay.If you Cougar guys want to,swap on a Thunderbird header panel,then,you to can have new lights.LOL.

Nope.
Only Tbird lights will work in Tbirds.
Cougars can at least cross-reference to Lincoln Conti headlights.

That's right,so,hit the yards for Lincoln lenses.I am unsure if the light housings are the same as a Cougar,though.

I looked it up once when I still worked at the j/y here...they're all the same :D

88-94 continental h/l lenses and units are the same as
87-88 cougar.you see them listed on ebay.green sales have the capsules [200.00 per side]! vintage ford parts also have them
but you have to go through a dealer to get them.--irv

Thank's  Irv. I have been trying to track down a set. I am not in a position to spend 2 hund.. on a new set so I will search all j/y's that I know of.

Theres a few on ebay, that I don't think will work even if they say they do .Some of them aftermarket ones.I see them in the yard here and there, They look like the one your trying to replace!

i dont think they ever made an aftermaeket h/l capsule for
these cars. at least keystone neverl isted. all AM stuff
for tbirds and cougars starts at 1989. but then again i could
be wrong. they will reman 83 and up bumpers.
