Title: 460 issues
Post by: benz302 on January 10, 2008, 09:13:35 PM
I am the guy thats putting the 557 in onebadcougars 85 cougar . I think he posted in the wrong section and I know he didn't end up getting the answers I need to know .

I need to put tall valve covers on it due to the roller rockers and need to know if anybody has actually done this by installing the smaller brake booster from a 94 mustang ? Did it clear ?

I have read that it doesn't clear in a mustang but I can't remember if the mustangs have the engine offset towards the right side like the cougars do . That bit of offset could make a world of difference !

Does anybody know the diameter of the 94 stang booster ?

This is becoming a real issue for me with this swap as this is a street driven car and nonpower brakes just isn't an option and I would prefer to NOT go with the hyrdoboost system but might have to .

THANKS for any input .

http://www.jamesduff.com/eb/booster.html  half way down the page.  Not sure if it will work here, but there might be something similar to it designed for Mustangs?

use a small dia 87-93 5.0 mustang booster, it clears a little better than about 1/4". that's what i did to mine.

Might try over at http://www.460ford.com

There are guys there that have done 94-98 Mustang 460 swaps.

Check out:hydratechbraking.com they have a hydraulic system that does away with the master cylinder.
