Title: Parting out 88 tbird lx, rip thunder306 :(
Post by: Bob on January 10, 2008, 01:15:51 PM
I'm parting out my old 88 tbird, I bought it back from my brother-in-law that I sold it to in June 07. He totaled it last month. Not real bad damage but enough damage to where its not worth fixing.

I'm keeping the engine, tranny, and the 3.55 tc rear will be sold last. If anyone needs any tbird specific stuff let me know. I'll post pics this weekend when I pull it out of the garage. Post what you need and I'll check back a couple times a day.

the hood, all glass, driver side fender, driverside rear taillight, and front headlights, and a couple of the turnsignal markers, and the doors are the only salvagable body parts.

The whole interior is in decent shape, turbo coupe seats, tc stearing wheel, in raven red? what ever its called? the dark red maroon interior.

also have 4 turbo coupe wheels and 4 chrome pony wheels, all need tires (less than 25% tread)

Pictures will be posted sunday..

some really good parts that come to mind are:
maximum motorsport caster camber plates, lower control arms, 255lph tbird specific fuel pump just purchased and installed in the last 4 months, good tbird fuel sender unit that works :), brand new power steering hose new in box, chuck w motor mounts never used..

I may be interested in the TC wheels depending on condition. It might be cost prohibitive to ship to Chicago though :hick:

someone here knows the weight of tc wheels without tires. You should be able to find what it was. Calculate shipping from 19102. I only want $50 for the tc wheels w/ center caps.
Title: motor mounts and console?

How much for the center console and chuck's mounts? I'm assuming those motor mounts are for a 5.0 right? The center console is needed because I'm doing a floor shift conversion. I'm in South Jersey and can pick up. Thanks.

the console has a broken latch were the console lid would close on. Looks like it could be glued. I'd give it away bare without lid and without control panel/ ashtray, and shifter panel for free if you wanted it

I'm 5min from Phila Int Airport. I'll post pics of them tomorrow.

I was suppose to take all my pics today but I got sidetracked looking at a tbird supercoupe that my brother-in-law bought today. So for those waiting for pics, I will post them tomorrow :D

Leather or cloth seats? If they're leather and in decent shape I'll take 'em.

Yeah I sold it back in June and than bought the M8. I bought the rest of the car back after the accident So I'm parting out everything but the engine, tranny, and rear. I've been looking for another fox thunderbird to put everything in. If I come across a nice fox notchback for the right price I might go the stang route, but from what I've been seeing online I'll be getting another tbird. The people who are selling these stangs are smoking crack with these prices. Plus I started to miss the tbird about 2-3 months after I sold it

Anyone waiting for parts pictures, sorry its been a py weekend with the weather and stuff. I'll take some inside the garage tonight. I'm really sorry to keep you guys hanging.

Yeah they are made for 83-88 tbird. Maximum motorsprts sells them. My parts are on hold for now. I think I'm buying another fox tbird so they will all have a new home.
