Title: My GT40 intake
Post by: thunderjet302 on January 08, 2008, 11:12:31 PM
This is how it looks:D  I'm not using the HO intake plaque but something I'm still working on. I just used it for the pics so the other one will be secret untill it's done;) It took a ton of sanding and grinding to smooth out the stock casting plus 3 coats of primer and 4 coats of paint for the shine:D

Wow, that looks pretty cool. Even though you're not going to use it, I think that plaque looks good too. Hey, you should start a business doing intakes like that. I'd give you $20 to do one.  :D

No it's not pratice I'm using the intake on my T-bird. The intake plaque/cover plate is one I had sitting around. I'm making a special custom one for the intake. I just put the HO one on for the pics ;)

As for the vacuum fitting see here:D : http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?t=17493

All I'll say is that it involves a snake;) . I'm waiting for something to come in so I can finish it.

Wait for the pics like everyone else lol. :D  It should be done in a week or two when the part shows up. It's not like what you did on yours (which is really cool by the way:D ). I think you'll like it ;)

BTW... When did a Exploder intake become a GT-40???

Yes I know the lowers are the same for all practical purposes, BUT that doesn't change the upper...

Truth be it known I've never had a plate that said Speed Queen... Just a joke I used on my freinds, since Kenmore and SQ are both washing machines... The Kenmore plate came from a furnace we junked at work, thought what the Hell...

I have the correct Cobra plate on that intake now...
