Post by: vinnietbird on January 05, 2008, 05:46:01 PM
I need the lower brackets for the a/c condensor.I have the uppers.I also need a GOOD a/c line with the dryer (for a 5.0 car).I've decided to re-install the a/c system on the Bird and sell off the a/c delete and the Stang polished steering pump bracket.Let me know what you have.

hey Vinnie, if I decide to get rid of my old non working A/C i'll be deleting it so if I go that route I'll be more than willing to sell or trade you the whole thing top to bottom etc.

EDIT btw, all it would need to be working is new O rings.  I'm almost positive that the only thing wrong with it.

The only GOOD suction line you'll find will be from an auto parts supplier. Never install a used one.

Why would you say to never install a used one? I think many guys have done it with no problems. I probably have sold several myself. Is that asking for problems in the future?

The job of an accumulator is to absorb moisture via a desiccant and filter the refrigerant. The desiccant can only absorb so much and cannot be regenerated. A used accumulator may have a full desiccant, unable to protect your system if moisture intrudes. The results can cause orifice tube icing and compressor failure.

Not yet.I still have to get a compressor and a new line with the dryer, then,it'll be off.The FRPP delete kit has about 500 miles on it,the bracket is from a Stang that I polished.Very nice, and the belt can go with it.The belt is for an a/c and smog delete car. It's about 6 months old....if that.

If you are still looking for some AC parts, I am in the process of removing everything from my cougar.  The Compressor worked but was slowly leading the black oil, The only line that was not in good shape was the lower one that runs along the radiator support.  The spring lock fitting at the evaporator core was leaking, but I assume you are going to install new o-rings.  Make me an offer on the stuff, I have everyting out of the car except the evaporator core.

Let me know,
Doug

I don't have a smog delete pulley,I just removed everything and bypassed it.The a/c eliminator consists of the Mustang steering bracket (polished),and the FRPP delete kit that moves the steering pump up.I may take you up on that.I'm checking a couple of local possibilities first.I need my parts until I have all of the a/c stuff.Stay tuned.
