Title: Factory installed stick shift owners - need help

I'm converting my AOD Cougar to a 6-speed.  I need to know what color the Turbo Coupe/XR-7 shift  and boot were.

Black?

The same gray of the dash/console?

Thanks.  I ordered a gray (I think) leather shift  from a 2000 Cobra R and I got a black leather boot froma 1989 Taurus SHO. One of them will need to be dyed to get the factory look. ;)

Same color as the dash/console. Ill try to dig up my original Turbo , and post a pic for you.

Cool! I like that better.  Now to find out how to re-dye leather...and where to get the dye.

This is where I would get it. http://www.springfieldleather.com/  I buy my leather there. They are very nice people that will do there best to get you what you need to get the job done right the first time. Call them up and talk to them if you need to. There are only 40min away from me so I get the luxury of meeting them in person.

I'm pretty sure mine was a glossy black plastic. It came from a Mustang, though. I replaced it with the leather covered cobra handle.
