Depends on what model. I think the Bill Blass Marks had the SO with a 7.5. But the LSC had the HO with 8.8. Its something you will have to climb under and check.

The 84 LSC I had was a 7.5 with disk brakes

8.8 dident come out till 1986 I think.

From the 84 shop manual:
The Crown Vic/Grand Marquis and the Town Car have 8.8
The Mark VII and Continental have 7.5

I believe the one I pulled was from an 85 and it was an 8.8 with 3.08 gears and calipers.

You will need the entire e-brake setup if you want the calipers to work right.  And new calipers are 100 bucks plus a 100 dollar core.

99% sure all Mark VIIs got an 8.8 in 1986.

They DEFINITELY got it in 1988. All, not just the LSCs.

Yup

AFIK they went to the 8.8" in '86 same as the 5.0 Stangs(had both and each had 8.8")...

Lincoln may or may not have Traction Lock...
