Post by: Its1FastCat on January 01, 2008, 03:13:32 AM
This is my continuous project car.  I am in the process of swapping in a 351W, Tremec, and Posi 8.8.  The pictures are from a couple years ago.

Nice.  Are you going to match the mirrors and background of the grill to the body color?

Good call, you must have noticed the 4 bars on the head.
It is the engine that I am in removing from my car tomorrow.  I was running the GT40P heads with the Edelbrock Performer Camshaft.  It is ground similar to the E303.

That car came with E6SE heads, roller block with flat top pistons without valve reliefs and a speed density computer system.  Let me tell you, that computer did not like that camshaft to say the least.

The paint on the engine is the newer Ford Corporate blue and is POR 15 which I brushed on after I asembled the engine.

The body color is very custom, not sure what colors they used to mix it.  The ghost graphics on the hood and fenders did not turn out like my dad wanted them to.  Of course it didn't get changed becasue he picked it up from the paint shop on a Thursday, raced the car at Tri State Raceway on Sunday and passed away on Monday.  So I inherited the car with the Stock block, heads, suspension, 2.73 finals and 10 hole rims and Kelley directional tires.  He did convert it to mass air before I began to modify it for myself.

Thanks for the compliments and the welcomes.

Sorry to hear the cirspoogestances, was this a while ago?
FWIW, Any professional bodyshop should be able to take a color sample picture and come up with a color formula for duplicating it, if need be.

It was almost five years ago, thanks for asking.  I have some of the leftover paint for both colors and the body shop is only 10 minutes from my home.  My dad wanted more "pop" in the paint.  In other words he would have been thrilled about bright orange scallops.  I for one am very happy with the less obvious contrast.  My exhaust gets enough attention from the boys and girls in blue.

Looks like a solid XR-7.  Sorry to hear about your father, but what a great thing he passed on to you.  Way to continue the legacy!

Have you ever been to the hot summer nights cruise ins on the first Tuesday of every month in the summer?  It is at the Pet Smart Parking lot in Dubuque.  I go every chance I get to those things.  I am also a member of the River City Mustang and Ford Club.  The contact information for this club is Dale Davis, Owner of D & D Auto Parts and Repairables in Peosta, Iowa.  563-588-1813.  We plan cruises this time of the year.

The question was posed to me as to what cam and heads I will be running.

Well the 351 will be running Windsor Jr heads and a the engine has a custom CI camshaft.  It will definately need a cowl hood because of the intake and carb that I am running.:cougarsmily:
