It's been done before. My car is an '88,but I have a 5.0.I had to fab up some aluminum scoop baffles to keep  from getting all over the engine while driving.Especially during the rain.I couldn't keep the engine clean at all.All is good now.Put the hood on.Get '88 hood hinges so you won't need a prop rod.

You might have to grind down part of the A/C bracket. That's one major reason why I stuck with a smooth hood when I switched to a T/C header.

If you use Mustang A/C and steering brackets, they sit lower than the Bird/Cougar brackets.

I solved the dirty engine from the rain problem by not driving in the rain. :)

I have no idea.Just find the brackets and take them down and have them either chromed or powder coated. My car is a/c delete, but I use a Stang power steering bracket that is polished.I'll be selling my delete parts as soon as I get the a/c parts I need. What show car are you wanting to put them on?LOL.
