Its about 2 hors north of me and the guy wants it gone. Said he has too many projects.
I'd do it, but it depends how much $600 is worth to your everyday living.
$600 buy it and get it the hell out of that guys way and start fixing it up. Looks like a nice starter for a long project.

I'd say do it if you have somewhere to store it. Also it depends on what comes with it and what you intend to do with it. If it going to be a 100% street car then I'd probably pass. If you have a very big budget and you're gonna race it then go for it. That sucker's a ground up restoration project. I would definitely go with a carbed engine combo if you do get it.
Looks like the next 3 or more winters project! But definitely a good starting point and well worth 600 bucks if the exterior body panels are in good shape. I'd plan on spending around 20-25K (to do it right)for it to even be worth attempting.
what costs less now, will cost more to finish. What costs more now, will cost less to finish....A rule of thumb to building cars.

I don't know whats going to be harder. Putting my 302 into that car or swapping the 3.8 out of my other car and putting the 302 in there. Thats the problem. PLus I need a home for the 429 SCJ I picked up.

Great rule of thumb. I've learned that the hard way before. Still a tough lesson to live by when I find so few Cougars and I find a cheap fixer upper.
I agree spend the extra money up front unless you find a cheap doner car that has all the other parts you need.
If that’s what you’re looking for I say it’s definitely worth it just the cage and labor putting it in exceeds 600
I have a doner car. Its the black one in my sig. I like the look of the bird more than the cougar but when I got my black car it was the only for body bird/cougar for sale in a 100 mile area that I could afford and wasn't a rust bucket.

I started cleaning out the mother in laws garage. My father in law was a gear head and had all kinds of parts laying around. She said take what you want.

NOT Necessarily! Depends on the project and what your plans are for it.Friend of mine went on that theory and lost about $5k. Wanted to have a ground up restore on a 67 Chevelle done by a renowned aut restorer here in town that was going to give him a real good deal. Went looking for a car to start with found two. 1) Original 67 SS numbers matching engine not running, factory stick, rusted floor boards, rusted quarters, rusted fenders and doors $15002) Non SS, Numbers didn’t match, ran and drove, converted to a stick, paint appeared “good”, interior “ok” $5000 He bought the 5k (#2) and drove it over to the guy who looked it over a bit and quoted New fenders, New Quarters, New Floor boards, New SS hood, New trunk lid etc. etc. full repaint and undercoating. $15kHe asked why the new panels and the guy told him those were bad and he would not do the car at all having his name on it without doing it ALL. he would show him why after he removed them. They rust from the inside out. Just because you couldn’t see the quarters rusting on the outside doesn’t mean they didn’t start. That just means it’s not through yet. They are in fact 40 years old. If he had done the job using those quarters then 5 years down the road they finally rusted through, WHO does people blame? Upon removing the old quarters what he claimed was true, the quarters were rusting on the inside, the Floor pans were rusting in the seams, the bolt on body parts were just to cheep for replacements not to replace. Dan (my friend) then asked him what it would have cost for the true numbers matching SS he could have gotten for $1500. and the guy said “New fenders, New Quarters, New Floor boards, New SS hood, New trunk lid etc. etc. full repaint and undercoating. $15k” He was already planning on full engine, tranny, suspension, rear end rebuilds. And new interior. All he needed to supply the guy was a canvas, and the end result of the $1500 canvas would have been worth more than the $5000 canvas.
I assume the front clip will come with the car. With those goodies added in for that price......If I had the space I'd be on it!
Well I got pics on the back end of the car and OH BOY was it bad. It needs new quarters and the cage would not come close to passing tech. The rear bars make a 90* turn and go thru the speake holes in the rear deck.

I still think its worthy of $600. Good project to start on.
