Title: diagram needed on the mn12 platform
Post by: Cougar8775 on December 18, 2007, 01:26:43 PM
ive done a serch for some mn12 info and came up with nothing so maybe im hoping someone here has a awnser to my question. I am currently replacing a water pump on my 1990 cougar xr7 3.8SC and it looked like i had to pull the whole alt bracket but i removed the bolts and it still is in place. Im wondering if any one has a manual on how to do the waterpump replacement on one of these engines.  Im new to the SC motors so any help would be appreciated Thanks guys!

I can't help much with the SC engine WP replacement, but here's a site that can.  They referred me here because I have a Fox body.

Lotsa MN12 experience there, and they do seem to love their SC engines.

lemme guess you cant get the drives side accessories off.if this is the case there's a pita bolt down behind the metal brace that goes from the steering pump to the water pump.its hard to see but its there and a real pita to get to.i personally cut a small hole in the plate to access the bolt.i get get you pics if needed just let me know
