Title: No Overdrive
Post by: capitlj on December 14, 2007, 01:08:44 AM
I have lost overdrive, it'll shift but if i touch the throttle the RPM just go up and the car stays at the speed its going.  I was thinking about a lightly built one from B&M or accurate.  I kinda want a manual valve body to go with my hammer shifter.  Anyone got some good recommendations?

Manual VB will get old fast, but then again, I am pretty lazy when it comes to that stuff.  Does anyone in your area do performance rebuilds?  They are not hard to do.

Most of them modify the valve body so 1=1, D=2, and OD=3. Over drive is usually activated electronically via a switch (like the 4R70W where you can turn OD on and off with a switch).

A guy on TCCOA gave me a receipe for a mean tranny using parts from an AODE and a 4R70W but i dont know if i want to do that because i would either have to find and buy a used tranny then the parts then pay someone to build it, or pull mine out then give it to someone to build.  I want to try to rebuild an auto but not when im under the gun ya know.

Classic disconnected TV cable symptom... If it's not the cable its a OD servo or band problem...
