Anybody do a cheap repair that worked,It's on my expedition.
My warranty was voided because I got a cold air intake on.
shiznitty excuse for ford engineers.
Don't think they can void your warranty over a CAI.
It's a 2002 exstended warranty,I know I'm still fighten them over a week now,It wouldn't void the factory warranty, but theres it does.I don't have a sighned copy of theres where it says it does.Like I said fighting.
put the origional intake back on lol.
Little late for that.serial#.Yeh should of before they got it.
Oh just learned this,Tire size difference voids it to.
I wish someone will show this contract.
One thats sighned by me!
Like the original post has anyone fixed one.I know I can, just lookin whitch way to do it.Without taking the head off.
Do I here patriot?
From what I've read, the Time-Sert (http://"http://www.timesert.com/html/ford_sparkplug_faq.html") is your best "over the fender" option.
I think it's a little pricey and overated.
And your alternative is? Oh wait, you're asking for it...
theres another option, a back-tap from alltrade tools seen it in a recent 5.0 mustang mag. there website is powerbuilttools.com,
"Ford refuses to stand behind the product, even when the owner has purchased the expensive extended warranty (http://"http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2006/01/ford_truck_engines.html#"). Ford insists the problem is with the spark plug and says that spark plugs are not covered by the extended warranty."

More (http://"http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/ford/TR7HFU0VD0N2U9KPD")
That that blew you off over the CAI doesn't surprise me, Ford as a whole seems to really be neglecting it's customers more and more.
FTE on the plugs themselves. LINK (http://"http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/551296-which-spark-plug-brand-are-you-using.html")
My dad has a '99 Super Duty with the V10, 50,000 miles, no plug problems yet.....yet.
Good luck man...
The spark plug link was interesting,I'm still fighten them on the warranty.Ford told me any warranty co. they use has to honor there factory warranty.CAI wouldn't void theres,
Right now It's all words. The dealer offered me 2500 over book value to trade it,F them.
Here is the link I found after mine did the same thing.

I"ll keep that in mine,If all else fails.I'm sure I can fix it,I'm into the fight now.
Little update,Ford not the dealer offered 1000 toward the repair.
I see a law suite or new aftermarket heads. Will know more monday.

Not much info for that, not even sure what I'm looking at.
It has to have something to do with the extra sleeve on the spark plug?? I just found it yesterday figured maybe it would help..
hi dave did the info john gave you help you out at all?
Yeh,Basicly what I had in mine just good to know someone else did it.
Just a little update,All the fighten got me about 1500 to fix it at the dealer.Pullin it out sat. and I will either fix it or replace the heads. As of yet I did not check it out.I was waiten on the warranty for a month now ,whitch was canceled at pro rate ,
got 1100.will know more sat.
Well it's running again.went the time-sert route, it is a quality kit.
a little over a 1000 miles on it.Just waiten on the next blow out now!!
if your talking about the spark plug poped out of the hole, just go buy a thread chaser for a spark plug. Napa sells them. If you need a pic of one, i can post mine.
you just start it in the hole, then put a socket over it and run it in.
if that does not work then there are a couple other options.
One would be to drill out the hole and either use a press in PemNut or a heli coil.
If i were you, make them show you in writting where you were at fault. Get a lawer involved to if you want.
BTW,, did the dealer install the plugs?
I was just throwing ideas back out incase this does not hold up.
It was to far gone to rethread,The time-sert did a nice repair.
I will be getting money back hasn't been determined how much yet.At least it's on the road and not sittin at the dealer.
