Under 40K.......
My guess is a lot less people will be paying that ridiculous $25,000 markup on the GT500. Even If there is a markup on the Challenger, I can't see it being over $10,000.
Had the GT500 been selling for sticker, I'd have one....
Thoughts anyone?

the only thing dodge has come out with lately that sparks my interest. Now, if they came out with a dart demon duster oh hell yeah, that took most of the same design cues that the new challenger took from the old one... i would definatly start saving

I think it’s neat that they are starting with the SRT8 model first, and then will make the lower performance models the following year. This bucks the current trend that most auto manufacturers do. I like the car but I like the current Mustang’s styling better. Now if the new Camaro comes close to the concept version, I would have a hard time picking the Mustang over it. I’m a Ford guy but that Camaro just looks great to me.
It’s too bad that you weren’t able to get a GT500 at sticker. A friend of mine purchased his GT500 at sticker from the dealership I used to work for. The owner of the dealership sold all of his GT500’s at sticker. But he also would not sell them to just anybody. From his list of potential buyers he only sold them to those that he knew really wanted the car and planned on keeping them. Not to those who were buying them just to turn a quick profit themselves.
BTW, here are some cell-phone pics of what is supposed to be the production version of the Challenger. The taillights and the grill now are a very close match to the 1970 model. I like it better with the rear spoiler too.

I love that car and the sticker pricing doesn't seem to be bad at all to me. I'd be more than happy with an R/T with the run of the mill 5.7 Hemi. The SRT's are nice but I have a feeling there are going to be more flashy "look at me" type assholes with money buying them than traditional enthusiasts.
As nice as it is I wouldn't buy an '08. I'd wait until '09 or '10 when they work all of the bugs out.

I like it... I'm curious to see the base model/pricing and see how it compares to the Mustang.
Dodge's website states that the MSRP starts at $40K. Typo? http://www.dodge.com/en/2008/challenger/

This is great news for ALL gearheads!
The more hi-po cars that are built today....the more used up hot rods there will be in 2018.
Can't afford new myself. I would like to have one, but I would be cautious of first run, first year start-up production problems, as well as over inflated dealer markups.
