You know I don't like it. The interior looks nice but the *rat rod* look really doesn't go with these cars. A 32 Ford ok, Fox no.

I don't care much for the exterior either. The interior is nice (mine will look like that except with cloth TC seats and a console), but the car has an unfinished look about it on the outside. It actually looks to me like a car that's had a whole lot of bodywork done poorly and painted with a roller just to get it through an inspection. It might not actually be that way, but it looks it. The "beater" look does work on prewar cars, but on a 20-year old car it just makes it look like, well, a beater.

Also, I would hardly qualify this as a "rebuilt engine":
Quote
the Fuel injected 3.8L V6 which gives 25-30 mpg, which is better or as much as new cars today was rebuilt at132864, less than 300 miles ago. The rebuild included a valve job, new lifters, new alternator, new thermostat, new water pump, new power steering pump, new spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, plug wires and upper and lower radiator hoses.

Sounds like a HG replacement that involved a tune up, lol

Not the best look since i don't like rat rods but still looks pretty nice and worth looking at least 1 time.

Or maybe the description that says "rat rod"? Lol, I think that may have stuck in peoples heads a bit. The thing is, the paint on the top is shiny, so they just messed up the paint and went with "rat rod" to try to smooth it over for the sale? It's more rinkey- than anything - as if it was cobbled together without much of an overall plan.

You don't see anything like that on my rat rod!

cougar5.0, i thought yours was more of a hotrod? it was my understanding a rat rod is a very cheaply put together hotrod. cheap like, flat black primer looking paint, rustholes purposely left there, mix matching parts  between very different cars. hot rods are things people put a good bit of time or money into to look nice.

i could be wrong, but i though that was the difference.

There was an old episode of Pimp My Ride, Where they took a late 80's/early 90's Buick and painted it flat black with red and white pinstriping and painted rims.
Mad Mike called it the rat rod look, heh. :hick:

BTW,
Nice hot rod!!!

sorry man you cant play....  your car is FAR from a "rat rod"  yours is a beautifully done "hot rod".....

"rat rods" are covered in rust and no shinny parts, or paint usually.... except maybe some old crusty valve covers.... and cobbled together by most peoples standards...
this is a nice rat rod....
