Ok so no I'm thinking about it again. Like I was saying, I have a spare buick 455ci. and was wondering what you big bird fans thought about a hybrid, 455 bird with a shot of n2o. You could call it a "riviunder bird". any way It would be mad power, and be a one of a kind in this town. So what do yall think?
Do it! Then we'd have a 500 Caddy Bird (Ted), a 455 Buick Bird (you), a SBC Bird (Sleeper), and an LS1 Bird (John) all in the same forum! I'd almost have to find a Bird to slap my AMC 401/5-Speed into!
Would it be too out of line to suggest a 440 Tbird? :hick:
Hmmmm.... We would need a Mopar Bird at that point, so DO IT! Then we need a Pontiac 400 into one too...
home make you some motor mounts and it should be a simple swap.
I could do a 318 bird.... would have to replace the shock towers.....
i almost got a 05 GT engine with a auto trans for like $2,200 just did not think i knew enough about cars to swap it all out and it was 6mnths after the 2005s where out.
I was thinking about a Buick GN engine in one of our cars or a Supercoupe engine.
SuperCoupe motor has been done. Look up Spaz***** under the members. I won't type the rest of his screen-name. Many of you out there know why as it's slang for a derogatory word.
A Mercruiser 3.7 4cylinder would be an interesting swap.
How about my 345 4bbl IH?? Actually, if you can make that 455 fit in there, I'd say do it.
I say 455ho pontiac,I had one in a 70 grandprix when i was 16 and it was a torque monster. But do the buick man they make lots of hi-po stuff for them. Then somebody do an olds 455,BBC 454,then they almost all be covered.
If i ever find a good roller bird, I have a 318 mopar sitting in maine that ive been told if I want it go get it. Hell, my grandfather is a ex mopar NUT, so I'm sure he could find me a 340, or hell a 440.....
Some day I'll build a CRD-powered T-Bird or Cougar (the CRD is the Mercedes V6 turbodiesel used in the Liberty). It'll be a long way off (gotta wait 'til that legendary Chrysler depreciation catches up with them so I can get a donor cheap) but it will happen.
Yeah I got a bunch of mopar stuff also. maybe that would be cool for the turbocoupe I just robbed some parts from. Could be an Idea thanks. Hopefully its not sacrilige.
Pretty good motors. ONe of the guys in the other forum I frequent put one in his effie street rod.
I used to be a Buick man.
The 455 Buick is not much heavier than a SBC and they make gobs of torque.
I had thought about the Buick engine/ T-Bird swap myself to show my buddies at the Buick GS Club.
would have been interesting.
Almost installed my Pontiac 400 in mine.
Its been a while sence I logged in here, I almost forgot I was thinking about this. Now I am again. Mounts wont be a problem, I just need to get my motorcycle running before I do a swap like this. I need someting with good gas mileage!lol
