for a fully loaded, rust free TC shell? I have a chance to get one here but I think he is asking WAY too much. it is an american car too..... here are some pics:

holy thats clean!!!
to answer the question, with everything but motor... id say 750ish. Its all there, and worth that in parts.
'88 right?
Looks clean...I'd say around 500 bucks American...but then down here, you can't get one like that, even with an engine.
Sucks that it's an auto-trans tho...
Would ya drop in a 5.0 or find another 2.3 for it if you bought it?
Well, it's not "fully" loaded. Missing the power moonroof and leather at the very least.
That being said, it IS a VERY clean shell. That's a great swap candidate! It has under 100,000 miles on it and is straight and rust free. You could strip that car for well over $2000 American...
Its worth more than 500, I personally feel that if its very clean, it would be worth maybe 1200 tops.
Yea, If you threw a new motor in it, you could turn it around and sell it for $2500+
That's a clean car! If I had the cash, i'd get that just to have it. Why part it out when you could throw another engine in it and have a great car.
I agree 100% with Sduneman3 and 1BadBird, throw a $500 motor in it and you'll have a $2500 car.
he is asking $2300 for it as it sits....... I may offer him $1800. Still trying to get that 5.0L one that I posted in my mustang for sale thread. a buddy of his pm'ed me and said they have it running now..... (the 5.0L one) what a tease. I literally begged him to sell it to me.. HAHAHA.
and I would go TT 5.0L
$500 US.
How many other mechanically-inclined 80s Ford enthusiasts with a car trailer in his area are going to pay much more than that for an automatic car without an engine?
Only if there were enough people in the immediate area that had a need for just about every removable part. The big parts are pretty much limited to his location because people don't want to spend the shipping costs on top of the part cost.
Let him sit on it for a while. It's too nice to junk so he won't do that. I'm sure there aren't that many people in the market for a non running TC even in the great condition that one is in. His asking price should come down for sure with time.
1000 tops/
The car does have a moonroof and is fully loaded.
The only option it lacks is leather and luckily it doesn't have it.
Hell i even have the factory deck it's missing,2300 is to much though.
I paid 2200 for my TC with only 70k on it and it was running.
I'd say 1500 would be worth while, maybe even as high as 1800 but that would be tops.
if i was in the market for a clean swap car and that one hapned to have either the grey or tan interior and moonroof id drop 2500 to 3000 on it if it was staring me in the face in real life. it wouldtotaly have to be "the one" though. super clean, str8, un fiddled foxes are getting hard to find...come to think of it i only saw 2 turbo coupes this past summer...
I'd drop $1800 on that in a heartbeat. A 20-year-old completely rust-free Thunderbird simply doesn't happen in eastern Canada very often - certainly not often enough to pass one up if you have the opportunity. Since you've got engine plans already the missing engine shouldn't be an issue.
$2300 would be a stretch tho...
Dang that sucker is shiney! I missed the moonroof! A paint job like that would cost well over a grand...
450-600.00
say about $600.00 then put in a 306 holley carbed motor........mmmmmmm...yeah... ok.
I'd give $1,800-$2,000. It's hard to find these cars in that good of condition. Plus you were going to ditch the 2.3 any ways ;)
I'd have to say $2K+ too. That is a really nice car. If I had the money,(and wanted a moonroof and red interior), and was standing looking at it, I could see paying $3K easy.
These cars are getting hard to find in nice shape.
It is worth whatever you are willing to pay.
It's a very nice car but he's not gong to sell it not running. I would wait a while and give him $1,000
TED
i would pay $600-900 maybe even $1000+ if it did not have that red interior.
WOW!!!

he isn't going to sit on it forever guys. it is a mustang guy, he doesn't give a rats ass about anything else.... I will let you guys know this weekend if I go for it...
If I do Dominator, we are going to have some long phone conversations soon.....LOL
LOL np ron,i still have all the 5.0 conversion wires written down plus there still on here somewhere in my(shoulda been a sticky)post.
Actually he is a tbird guy,if you read some of his posts he mentions
a bird in his avatar but i don't see it.
I would pay a decent amount for it. Just imagine what how much body and paint work most of these cars need. The cost would be more than his asking price.
Jim
Not for me, I do my own body and paint, If I get this one it will be a better incarnation of my '88. same blue too.
That's a good skill to have. If I could do it, my yard would probably be filled with projects.
$800
and your point? I would say the results speak for themselves:

Yes it was painted in my back yard, and I garuantee it was a better job then you will ever get at macco.
NOTHING in the paint. I even let a buddy do a couple coats, and he has never weilded a paint gun before:

LOL 1800 is a stretch but 1500 for sure as clean as it is but i'd have to think about it long and hard because of the porno red interior.
Hey nothing wrong with a sweet red interior.
That first shot of your old blue car should be in the calender, that's HOT. I have *ton* of respect for you to paint your own stuff.
I bet you miss that bird, that thing was sooo sweet!
Great Job, you are a very brave and lucky man. If I did that on dirt it would be full of bugs, leaves, and dirt.
Love the classic barn.
What color is that?
TED
Bugs and stuff,That's metal flake!
Claude got his super clean TC for 300 bucks. Anything over 1000 is way to much!
You need to get it. Thats a perfect platform for you to start with.
3.73 gears with a t-loc 8.8
big brakes
no motor, so you can stuff what you want in it
perfect paint, so thats no biggy yet
perfect interior, no worries there, other then that auto shifter ;)
so get it, drop the trans, 5 speed swap, and throw a 302 or 351w in it!
I sent it but he didn't want it....
Yes! very much! I regret selling it.
The barn or the car? LOL, the car is '99 Ford, Bright Atlantic Blue Metallic
I figured even if I screwed up, it couldn't look worse then that hideous brown... LOL.
Here's a pic of claude's TC.
