my alternator and voltage regulator decided to out on me this morning while driving to work, throwing the idiot light on and off while going in and out of charging the battery. after replacing them with the :shame: cheapest ones i could get at autozone since the dealer wanted 80 bucks for the regulator alone:flame: and $$ are tight atm.
anyway to my point, after replacing them my turn signals which would works real slow or not at all suddenly started to work normaly(or normal enough for me). does the voltage regulator have any affect on the turn signal indicators that would cause this to happen?
im not complaining since they work:hick: but im not savy with electrical stuff and im just trying to figure out if that was the problem and why?
The stock turn signal flasher is "thermal" and relies on a certain amount of current flowing through it to operate. If there's less current it will flash slow or not at all, and if there's more current it'll flash fast. Low voltage due to a bad regulator would certainly lower the current passing through it...
